Jason ‘El Niño’ Pagara Leads ‘Pinoy Pride 29’ Lineup

ABS-CBN Sports team up once again with ALA Promotions for an action-packed all-star lineup headlined by the reigning WBO international champion Jason “El Nino” for “Pinoy Pride 29” on February 7 (Saturday) airing on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Sports + Action the day after (February 8).

Jason Pagara

Aside from Pagara, three more rising Filipino boxing champions will unleash their skills inside the ring. WBO world rank number one junior featherweight division Genesis “Azukal” Servania of Bacolod City, WBO international junior bantamweight champion “King” Arthur Villanueva of Negros Occidental, and the undefeated Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo of Tacloban City, will battle it out against elite champions from Mexico and Thailand.

Pagara (34-21-2), will go head-to-head against Mexican challenger Cesar “El Dolar” Chavez (23-11-7) for the WBO International Jr. Welterweight Championship. 21 of Pagara’s 34 wins have come from knockouts making the reigning International Jr. Welterweight Champion a force to reckoned with.

Meanwhile, Servania (25-11-0) is up against another Mexican fighter, Juan Luis “Perla Negra” Hernandez (17-9-3) for the WBO Intercontinental Jr. Featherweight Championship. If the odds are in Servania’s favor, he would cement his reputation as the WBO Intercontinental Fighter of 2014.

Another Mexican challenger, Julio Cesar “Pingo” Miranda (38-29-11), will clash against Villanueva (26-16-0). The Filipino boxing champion has an undefeated streak in all of his 26 fights, making him a feared opponent by many. Scoring another win against Miranda would let Villanueva keep a spotless record.

Thai challenger Sukkasem Kietyongyuth (13-3-2), a former PABA Super Bantamweight Champion, is hard to beat. But there is a new and upcoming boxer from the ALA gym that has a big promise as a knockout artist, Mark Magsayo (9-7-0). His reputation of having earned his victory in four of his fights via first-round knockout, makes their match a must-see.

Catch the highly anticipated clash of fighters in “Pinoy Pride 29 Fists of Fury” at the USEP Gym, Davao City on February 7 (Saturday), 6PM. “Pinoy Pride 29” will have a primetime telecast on February 8 (Sunday) on ABS-CBN, 10:45AM and on ABS-CBN Sports + Action, 9PM with a replay on February 14 (Saturday) on ABS-CBN Sports + Action, 12NN.
