ABS-CBN is Unanimous Choice of Filipino Teachers and Students for Best TV Station

ABS-CBN is the top choice of students in the country for TV entertainment, news, and information, having reaped a total of nine Best TV Station awards from different award-giving bodies in the academe.

Campus Awards

It was hailed as the Best TV Station at the Young Educators’ Council of SOCSKSARGEN’s (YECS) Aral Parangal Awards; Mapua Institute of Technology’s 1st Gawad Kamalayan Awards; Eastern Visayas State University’s (EVSU) 1st Students’ Choice Mass Media Awards; 13th Gawad TANGLAW (Tagapuring mga Akademisyan ng Aninong Gumagalaw) composed of Jose Rizal University, Philippine Women’ University, University of Perpetual Help System, and Colegio De San Juan de Letran; Holy Angel University’s 2nd Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards; and Andurog Awards for Highest Distinction from Bicol University.

ABS-CBN was also voted the Best TV Station at the Northwest Samar State University’s 6th NwSSU Students’ Choice Awards For Radio and Television; Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila’s UmalohokJUAN Awards; and University of the Philippines-Los Banos’ 9th Gandingan: UPLB Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice Awards.

In the first quarter of 2015 alone, the Kapamilya network won a total of 154 awards from eleven student award-giving bodies in the country’s various regions.

Among the big winners are “TV Patrol,” which was recognized as Best News Program five times, as well as “Matanglawin,” which was named Best Educational Program seven times.

“It’s Showtime,” on the other hand, was honored with seven recognitions as Best Noontime Show. “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and “ASAP” received six Best Drama Anthology and four Best Musical Variety Show trophies, respectively.

ABS-CBN’s AM radio station, DZMM, was named Best AM Station at the Gandingan, UmalohokJUAN, and TANGLAW.

ABS-CBN Regional, meanwhile, stood out in student awards with 18 recognitions in combined local television and radio categories. It scored four trophies at Gandingan; seven at Kabantugan, six at St. La Salle Bacolod’s Bilib Awards; and one at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod’s Gawad Turismo Award.

The student award-giving bodies aim to honor TV programs, movies and media personalities who promote their respective schools’ mission and values. The winners were voted by the students, faculty members, and staff of the said universities.

    @Briggs…teh! Don’t say bad word ( FLOP ) bawas bawasan natin kc mas nahuhurt ang mga kapuso natin sa Kamuning. For the past 4 years til now…mas madami tyong waley na show eh. Dont you realized that? Mga cartoons, old movies or foreign shows nlng ang patok sa programming natin. Tska Til now Mega Manila prin tyo at BAGSAK prin NATIONWIDE OVER-ALL.. pati NET INCOME NATIN BAGSAK DIN …hahaha
