Broadcast journalist Anthony Taberna sits down with an avid fan of teen superstars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo and shows how her fondness for the love team has shaped her life in “Tapatan ni Tunying” tomorrow (April 24).

Fifteen-year-old Mikaela Marcelino has been a Kathniel fan since 2011. Despite her active participation in the fans’ club, Mika continues to be part of her school’s top ten students, helped in part by the inspiration she receives from Daniel and Kathryn.

“Sometimes if I’m too tired to do an assignment or school project, I think of them (Daniel and Kathryn) and my parents to motivate me to work harder and do my best,” shares Mika.

Mika’s mother, Gloria, has also been influenced by her daughter to become a KathNiel fan herself. Gloria has seen the changes in her daughter since joining a fans’ club of KathNiel, saying that Mika has become more sociable and even joined her school’s basketball team.

If Mika has dedicated her life to fandom, there are also other people whose admiration for and obsession with people and activities have steered the course of their lives to a different direction. Tunying talks to a 15-year-old fan of Manny Pacquaio who wishes to follow in his idol’s path to success in boxing and a mother who is a self-confessed health and wellness “addict.”
