GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon won the prestigious Global Media Icon of the Year in the Master Class category of the first Global Branding Awards held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 8.

The event was organized by the Global Brands Council and The Leaders International and endorsed by the American Leadership Development Association.

Gozon was likewise conferred as a Fellow of the Global Brands Council, the highest form of membership in the Society that seeks to help companies and individuals build stronger brands.

“I am grateful for this award, not only because I am the first Filipino to be given this recognition, but also because this pays tribute to all our efforts in establishing GMA Network as a leading brand not only in the Philippines, but in the entire ASEAN region,” Gozon said.

The Global Branding Awards honors excellence in brand performance and rewards individuals and companies from different countries across various sectors including diplomatic, philanthropic, business, government, media, among others.
