Jordan Clarkson Shares the Smart Life as New Smart Bro Endorser

His basketball superstar status aside, 23-year old high-leaping guard Jordan Clarkson, who towers at 6’5, is every inch your typical millennial: he turns to his mobile devices for his daily music and video fix, and logs on to social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to catch up with family, friends and fans every chance he gets.

“I take my gadgets anywhere I go for my online fix. It’s how we connect and share with the rest of the world now,” said Jordan, who is the latest endorser of Smart Bro, the mobile broadband of unrivalled wireless services and innovations leader Smart Communications.

In its latest campaign, Smart Bro banners its powerful 4G Pocket WiFi – which can connect up to 10 gadgets – as a way to share the Smart Life experience with your friends and loved ones.

The Smart Bro 4G Pocket WiFi now comes with exciting perks for new prepaid and postpaid users: prepaid users can head to Smart stores and retail outlets nationwide to avail of the device for only P1,495 inclusive of FREE Internet surfing for three months, with an allocation of 350MB per month; on the other hand, postpaid users can get the it for FREE at Big Bytes Plan 799, inclusive of 4.5GB data per month, as well as FREE 1.1GB for Fox, Spinnr and iFlix, and a 30-day access to these entertainment apps valid for three months.

The perfect ‘bro’ for Smart Bro

“Jordan perfectly represents Smart Bro, a brand that stands for connecting and sharing the Smart Life experience with your friends and loved ones, so you can enjoy an unparalleled entertainment on-the-go experience together,” said Michele Curran, First Vice President and head for Data Services at Smart.

“We’re also sure that ‘connecting’ and ‘sharing’ bear a much deeper meaning for him especially after he got the chance to reconnect to his Pinoy roots and share with the nation’s passion for basketball,” Curran added.

Jordan’s Smart Bro TV commercial – his first ever – shows him precisely the down to earth basketball star that he is, zealous to impart his killer basketball moves – something that he personally got to do in his series of basketball clinics and training with Pinoy kids and collegiate players.

“I definitely enjoyed the experience. You know they have the same love and the passion for basketball as you do. You see it in their eyes,” said Jordan about getting to teach basketball to kids in Pampanga and having the opportunity to speak before the Ateneo Blue Eagles team.

“I shared with them my story – how I had my share of doubts and that all I’ve been doing up to now is continue to prove people wrong by working hard. It’s cool to have accolades, but my eyes are always set on being a good player,” said Jordan.

“I told them passion is all you need. You can work on your skill and talent if you have the passion for something.”

Powerful pocket-sized device

As he shuttled from one appointment to the next, Jordan got to enjoy and share the Smart Life experience with his crew as they relied heavily on the Smart Bro 4G Pocket WiFi for all their online needs.

“It was awesome because our whole group turned to a pocket-sized device for connection – it packs so much power,” said Jordan, who went around Metro Manila to meet with other Filipino basketball players, traveled to his mother’s hometown in Pampanga to get in touch with relatives, and squeezed in an overnight trip to Boracay island to unwind.

“We all shared the Smart Bro 4G Pocket WiFi wherever we went. I used it mostly to chat and check out social media, while my colleagues used it for email, listen to music and watch videos. I think this device is a must for everyone,” he said.

Jordan’s mobile entertainment picks

Asked about what’s in his digital swag, Jordan reveals his wide taste in music: “I’m a big Drake fan and listen to a lot of his songs especially on the way to a game. There’s also Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran in my playlist. I don’t limit myself to particular genre – I just listen to great music.”

Jordan also admits to playing mobile games on his phone, citing Mortal Kombat X as his latest favorite. When it comes to films, Jordan says he watches just about everything, but his all-time favorites are predictable: “’He Got game’ and ‘Loving and Basketball’ stand out for me because I’m into basketball.”

“Like Jordan and his crew, you and your friends can share the Smart Life with the widest library of entertainment content – from music, games to videos – on your mobile devices when you have a Smart Bro 4G Pocket WiFi, which is backed by the country’s strongest and largest multimedia platforms,” said Curran.

The Smart Bro 4G Pocket WiFi device offers blazing-fast Internet connection of up to 12Mbps all around the country, thanks to Smart’s expansive mobile network backed by more than 10,000 4G-LTE and HSPA+ sites nationwide.
