He was joined by other CEOs and industry leaders from NBA, ESPN, Cisco, EE, Orange, Telstra and Hopscotch in exploring the evolution of stadiums as the ultimate incarnation of some of the most innovative consumer mobile experiences. Coming from the Philippines which has gained a reputation as the selfie capital of the world, and in a country where basketball is considered as a “religion,” the former PBA head coach emphasized the importance of sports-team apps in enhancing the fan experience.

Speaking of his own experience from home, Coach Chot recalls how TV5 as the official exclusive broadcast partner of PBA partnered with Hopscotch, a leader in mobile-platform technology in creating PBA apps. According to Reyes, “we turned to Hopscotch to create a mobile experience that’s more personal and interactive than just watching on TV. The partnership will deploy an app for specifically for each of the PBA’s 12 teams and their fans. The PBA team apps will have exclusive team-specific content, social media content integration, real-time game statistics and access to PBA game live streams. We want the selfie-taking super fan to feel like they’re part of the team.”
