Ateneo Lady Eagles vs De La Salle Lady Spikers Championship Match Airs on ABS-CBN Sports + Action

Rival schools. Finals. Game 3. Winner-take-all. Plus sizzling volleyball action set in paradise. It can’t get better than this.

ABS-CBN Sports via Sports + Action brings an action-packed volleyball weekend with live airing of the rubber match between Ateneo De Manila University and De La Salle University in the UAAP Women’s Volleyball Finals at 3PM on Saturday (April 30) and the telecast of the semifinals and finals matches in the Beach Volleyball Republic’s Boracay leg at 2PM on Sunday (May 1) on ABS-CBN Sports + Action.

Defending champion Ateneo Lady Eagles will face bitter rivals De La Salle Lady Spikers one last time this season for all the marbles in their fifth straight Finals match-up. Players to watch out for are the graduating seniors who are playing their last games in the league and have undeniably made the sport more popular such as three-time MVP Alyssa Valdez of Ateneo, her teammate Amy Ahomiro, while De La Salle will rely on their trio of super seniors in Ara Galang, Mika Reyes, and Cyd Demecillo, who will be anchored by Season 78 Best Setter and MVP contender Kim Fajardo.

Will Alyssa Valdez win her third and final crown? Or will Ara Galang and Mika Reyes avenge their Season 76 and Season 77 losses? Game day is set on Saturday (April 3).

Moving to the sands, catch the Labor Day (May 1) telecast of the semifinals and championship matches in the Boracay Leg of Beach Volleyball Republic (BVR), which happened last April 27 to 28, on ABS-CBN Sports + Action, as part of the network’s commitment to promote the sport further, starting at 1:30 PM. See how the tandem of Charo Soriano and Alexa Micek overcome the challenges put up by the formidable field of beach volleyball players they competed with led by Air Force’s Judy Caballejo and Coyah Abanto, to win the third leg of BVR, which was set at the famous beach island of Boracay.

But that’s not all as basketball fans also get their fair share of love with the collegiate offseason training picking up with the start of the 2016 FilOil

Flying V preseason tournament and the daily coverage of the ongoing NBA Playoffs on ABS-CBN Sports + Action and ABS-CBN. The first game of the FilOil competition starts the tussle between Adamson, parading Franz Pumaren as head coach, against his old team, the De La Salle Green Archers, who are now handled by former Letran coach Aldin Ayo, on Saturday (April 30, 10am) with the second game between the UE Red Warriors against the re-tooled Ateneo Blue Eagles airing on Monday (May 2, 4pm) to make way for the replay of the second game of the Women’s Volleyball Finals of the UAAP. The NBA Games to be aired during the weekend are the ongoing series of the Toronto Raptors and Indiana Pacers on Saturday (April 30, 8:30am on ABS-CBN) and the series opener of the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday (May 1, 8:30am LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports + Action).

ABS-CBN Sports + Action will also air Nonito Donaire Jr’s exciting knockout victory over Zsolt Bedak on Sunday (May 1, 12 noon).
