2015 was a breakthrough year for ABS-CBN in Europe as it broke into the continent’s mainstream film circuit via the iconic Cathy Garcia Molina movie “A Second Chance.” In 2005, the John Lloyd Cruz-starrer “Dubai” became the second movie to be screened in mainstream Middle East after the movie “Milan.”

John Lloyd Cruz and Direk Cathy will once again play key roles in TFC in Europe and Middle East’s theatrical service as the network brings “Just The Three Of Us,” ABS-CBN’s movie outfit and distribution company Star Cinema’s first movie to bring together the industry’s blockbuster icons in one movie: Direk Cathy, John Lloyd plus Jennylyn Mercado, screening in the Gulf Region starting May 5 and in Europe May 7 and 8.

The 2015 Guillermo Mendoza Foundation Awards Phenomenal Actor is proud to be part of this milestone. During the recently held virtual press con held among Filipino communities and members of the press in Middle East and Europe, John Lloyd shared: “Hindi ko nga napansin na apat na pelikula ang lumabas (since 2015). Especially sa panahon ngayon, especially sa Kapamilya network, talagang global ang reach. Malaking bagay na maraming sumusuporta maraming tumutulong sa mga Pinoy communities partikular sa ibang bansa, at dahil lahat iyan sa TFC.

“Just The Three Of Us” is not the first opportunity Direk Cathy and John Lloyd are working together but it is Jennylyn, 2015 MMFF Best Actress and Breakthrough Box Office Indie Film awardee’s first time not only to work in a Star Cinema movie but also with John Lloyd and Direk Cathy.

Just The Three Of Us’ press conference is also Jennylyn’s first TFC event and the award-winning actress was exuberant.

Working with John Lloyd also had its great perks for her. “Marami akong natutunan sa kanya. May side pala siyang nakakatawa at bentang-benta siya sa akin.”

Just The Three Of Us is about two completely opposite individuals who are thrown together in an uncanny opportunity for love.
John Lloyd says the differences in personalities is key in the movie. “Well sa akin that’s the real essence of love. That’s the strongest attraction,” the award-winning actor said.

Direk Cathy told the Filipino community and members of the press that this is not you’re your usual romance comedy. “Iniimbitahin po namin kayong i-try ang bagong putahe na ito na ino-offer namin sa inyo. We have made a lot of rom coms before but I think this one is different. There is something more than just rom com in this film. I hope you watch it so you know what I mean.”

The press conference did not only tackle the movie and the performances but also possibilities in terms of the career of the actors. The press conference turned light when the Filipino community asked the possibility of Jennylyn moving to ABS-CBN to which Jennylyn answered ‘Hindi pa.” John Lloyd did a rejoinder and emphasized the “pa” much to the audience’s amusement.

Just The Three of Us screens May 5 in the Gulf Region, May 7 in Germany, May 7 and 8 in France, United Kingdom, Scotland, Italy, Malta, Austria and Spain.
