In celebration of Mother’s Day, the number one cable channel in the country brings top caliber films perfect for family movie marathon at home.

Catch the award-winning Cinema One Originals’ film, “Mater Dolorosa” this Sunday, 10pm on Mother’s Day Special. Directed by Adolfo Alix Jr., the film revolves around the story of a mother, played by Gina Alajar, as she faces the greatest test when she takes over her husband’s crime empire while trying to keep her family intact. The film will premiere on Mother’s Day, May 8 at 10PM.

Written by Jerry Gracio, “Mater Dolorosa” is an edgy family drama that portrays a mother’s love and protection for her family. “Mater Dolorosa” is the first Cinema One Originals title made available on iTunes.

The cast also includes Carlo Aquino, Alessandra de Rossi, Cogie Domingo, Felix Roco, Anita Linda, Bembol Roco, Rosanna Roces, Evelyn Vargas, Menggie Cobarrubias, Jason Abalos, Mercedes Cabral, Alwyn Uytingco, Kristofer King, Jess Mendoza, and Philip Salvador.

Among “Mater Dolorosa’s” recognitions were the 2013 Gawad Urian Best Director for Adolfo Alix Jr., the 2013 Golden Screen Awards Best Actress award for Gina Alajar, and the 2013 Star Awards for Movies Best Supporting Actor for Carlo Aquino.
