DreamPlay Turns 1, Launches Dance Competition for Children

City of Dreams Manila’s DreamWorks-inspired interactive play space–DreamPlay–jumpstarts its month-long first year anniversary celebration with an exciting, enthralling line-up of activities including the launch in Manila of Madagascar movie’s King Julien mascot and his dance contest for kids aptly named “King Julien’s Dance Off.”

The 1st year anniversary program was held last June 10, 2016 for the media. The said festivity included fun activities such as the atmospheric parade with DreamWorks’ beloved characters, the first appearance of the new mascot – Madagascar movie’s King Julien, the launch of his “King Julien’s Dance Off” Competition, and a special DreamWorks-themed performance by the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir. A ceremonial 1st year anniversary cake-cutting headed by City of Dreams Manila Propery President Geoff Andres and celebrity guests Tessa Prieto-Valdez and her daughter Athena capped the media event, which was also attended by children of Bahay Aruga, an orphanage at Paranaque City that is City of Dreams’ adopted charity.

KING JULIEN LAUNCHES DANCE COMPETITION

Together with the start of the celebration is the kick-off of the hip dance competition, “King Julien’s Dance Off.” Open to kids ages 7 to 14 yrs old, the grand finals is slated to be held at City of Dream Manila’s Grand Ballroom on July 16. Interested parties can join by uploading their group’s dance video at www.cityofdreams.com.ph/dreamplaydanceoff by June 30, 2016.

Among the entries, 12 groups will be selected as semi-finalists and only six groups will compete in the Grand Finals. Over a hundred thousand worth of prizes are at stake for the winners.
King Julien’s mascot himself will be performing in the event and will celebrate with the guests in this momentous activity.

MOVIES AND MASCOTS GALORE

For its first year month-long festivities, DreamPlay treats its guests with its latest exciting attractions such as the new 4D movie “Megamind: The Button of Doom” at the Dream Theatre, new Martial Arts moves via a new lesson at the Kung Fu Fighting Dojo.

Guests can pique their creativity also by dabbling with the new create-your-own-movie Penguins of Madagascar module at DreamStudio, DreamWorks mascot photo ops including a souvenir printed photo with Shrek, Fiona, Alex , Po, or King Julien from June 11to July 17.

On weekends up to July 17, more exciting activities are in store for DreamPlay visitors including the new hot air baloon-shaped gingerbread cookies in “Cooking with Gingy”, together with Shrek and Donkey; “Whatever Floats Your Boat” competition, anniversary flash mob, and arts and crafts workshops.

FATHER’S DAY AT DREAMPLAY

Celebrate Father’s Day in this interactive indoor creativity center. On June 19, Dads are give a 30% discount on admission rates. A special “ALL DAY PASS BUNDLE” foran extraordinatry bonding experience with the family. The Father’s Day package entitles adults and children with a free “Toothless” dragon mug and cap per bundle.
