From over 500 participants, 6 finalists have been chosen to compete in this year’s AirAsia Travel Photographer competition. They will be traveling to Shanghai later this month for a series of photography challenges where a panel of judges will decide who will win the title this year.

But aside from the title AirAsia Travel Photographer 2016, a People’s Choice award is also up for grabs!

My bet for this award is Mithilaya Miclat, 25-year-old Social Entrepreneur from Davao City. She’s got tons of awesome travel photos.

During the announcement of the six finalists, Mithilaya pointed out in her interview that traveling is one of her passions aside from photography.

“As a kid, whenever people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I wouldn’t really have a clear job in mind. I have different answers, depending on my mood. I would say doctor, architect, flight attendant, chef, scientist, etc. The only constant thing I would say was this: ‘I want to travel the world,'” she said.

“Currently, I’m a nutritionist-dietitian and social entrepreneur. I am managing our family business which is a small food manufacturing enterprise. I love what I do but I would always look forward to my next trip. I love exploring and capturing moments. I have a constant desire to immerse myself in different surroundings and cultures. No matter how lost I get in life, it would only take me a while to find myself again whenever I travel,” she added.
