Mister Gay World Philippines 2016: First ‘I Am Pogay’ Titleholder Wins
John Raspado from Baguio City emerged as the winner of Mister Gay World Philippines 2016 during the pageant final held Sunday night, October 2, at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City. He will represent the Philippines in Mister Gay World 2017.

Raspado also won several special awards including Best in National Costume, Best in Casual Wear, and Mr Popularity.

It’s interesting to note that Raspado won the first ever “I Am Pogay” title in 2014 on the Kapamilya noontime show “It’s Showtime.” His runner-up back then was Christian Lacsamana who is also Mr. Gay World Philippines 2015. Last April, Lacsamana placed 2nd runner up in Mister Gay World 2016 which was won by Spain.
John Bench Ortiz from Pangasinan was named first runner-up while Khalil Vera Cruz from Zamboanga del Sur emerged as second runner-up. Rounding off the Top 5 were Leo Andrew Ponce and John Jeffrey Carlos.
