Philippine delegate Kylie Versoza has been named Miss International 2016 during the pageant final on Thursday, October 27, held at the Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan. She is a 24-year-old teacher and fashion model from Baguio City.

Each of the Top 15 semifinalists were given the chance to talk about their plans if ever they win Miss International. Here’s Kylie’s speech:

“If I become Miss International 2016, I will devote myself to cultural understanding and international understanding because I believe that it is in developing in each of us sensitivity to other cultures that we expand our horizons, tolerate difference and appreciate diversity,” she said.

Verzosa is the sixth Filipina to win Miss International for the Philippines following Bea Rose Santiago, who took home the crown in 2013. Miss International is considered one of the Big Four or “Grand Slam” international beauty pageants, along with Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Earth.
