Viewers were easily captivated by the story of love and friendship in ABS-CBN’s newest series “Langit Lupa” as its pilot episode scored high in national TV ratings last Monday (Nov 28).

The morning series topbilled by child stars Yesha Camile and Xia Vigor scored a national TV rating of 17.5%, beating its rival show “Trops,” which only got 8.7%, according to data from Kantar Media.

Netizens also showed their love and support for the series, with the official hashtag #LLFriendshipBegins joining the list of trending topics on Twitter.

In its first episode, viewers witnessed how the friendship of Lala (Yam Concepcion) and Dey (Alessandra De Rossi) started and their journey to fulfilling their dreams together.

However, their friendship was put to test when Dey died after Lala failed to give the money she needed for her medication. To forget all the pain, Joey (Jason Abalos), Dey’s husband, decided to move to Manila and start a new life with their family.
