Cast of ‘Ang Probinsyano’ Invades Hong Kong

Deafening cheers welcomed the cast of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” as lead star Coco Martin and stars Yassi Pressman, Awra plus Daryl Ong set foot in Hong Kong early December for “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano Isang Pamilya Tayo Grand Fans’ Day”.

The “Isang pamilya Tayo Grand Fans’ Day” is the third leg of the long-running show “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” cast’s international shows, which is their way of thanking the Filipinos overseas for their year of support for their show.
The kababayans in Hong Kong felt the gratitude and love as Martin did not think twice about getting off his car upon arrival and walking towards the holding area at Piazza A&B, Hong Kong Cultural Center, Tsim Sha Tsui where the event was held.

For the King of Primetime, it was the perfect opportunity to personally greet his fans so he had no qualms in going all out.  When the show started, Martin humored the crowd saying, “Sabi sa inyo magsasawa kayo sa akin ngayon araw na ito, e! (I told you, you are going to get tired of me.)” He then added, “Dahil minsan lang ‘to, susulitin ko na! (This just happens once in a lifetime, so bear with me.)”

Raising the excitement level further was the Kapamilya heartthrob’s performance of several songs which he prepared for the Hong Kong leg, including the theme song of the series “‘Wag Ka Nang Umiyak” popularized by Gary Valenciano.  Martin also performed other songs such as “Awit ng Kabataan” and “Bonggahan.”

The supporters, happy to see Martin, took in ever performance he shared with the crowd, including his singing.  While he could carry a tune, Martin knew he was no belter.  He humored the crowd laugh saying: “Di ba ang pangit ng boses ko? Kapalan lang ng mukha (ko) para mapaligaya kayo! (I sing badly but I will sing just to make you happy.)”

Martin then called on-screen partner Pressman onstage for a duet to the tune of “Ikaw,” an original hit by Yeng Constantino. Met by the teases from the crowd was Martin‘s one-liner for Pressman: “Ang daming nanligaw sa akin ikaw lang pumasa, ah? (A lot has courted me but only you prevailed).”

Aside from a duet with Martin, Pressman, also known as the “Princess of the Dance Floor” also brought the house down with her song and dance performance of Beyonce’s hit single “Crazy In Love,” and song performance of the OPM hit “Torete” by Moonstar 88.

Breakout Child Star Awra, meantime, fired up everyone’s energy with his dance performance of “Ang Kulit,” theme song of the film “The Super Parental Guardians” that also stars Martin, plus Xymon “Onyok” Pineda and Vice Ganda.

Meantime, Ong also made the audience swoon with his ballads, and invited a lady and serenaded her on stage with the song “Basta’t Kasama Kita.” The crowd also sang along with him to the tune of what could be considered one of the most iconic Christmas songs, “Sana Ngayong Pasko,” which touched many of the overseas Filipinos’ hearts.

Before the show concluded, all the cast of ‘Ang Probinsyano’ went back onstage to thank the almost 4,000 attendees of their show, and took a group selfie or groufie with their Kapamilyas. Towards the end of the show, Martin invited the Pinoys in Hong Kong to visit them at the set of “Ang Probinsyano” when they go home to the Philippines.

“Sana pag-uwi n’yo ng Pilipinas magkita-kita pa rin tayo. Dalaw kayo sa set namin ng ‘Ang Probinsyano’ para personal naman kaming makapagpasalamat sa inyo, (Please visit us when you come home so we can personally thank you.)” he said.

The surprises did not end there as select fans were given the chance to personally meet Martin, Pressman, Awra and Ong and have a photo opportunity with the cast.

  1. Marketing strategy at its best. From CSID. 2016 Isang pamilya Tayo ngayong pasko hanggang sa TFC fans day tour. Wala nyan ang GMA 7 Network na magic ratings ng pasko? Just my opinion sobrang kuripot kasi.

  2. taob sa Encantadia ang mga starlet na e2..hahahaha
