Marco Gallo and Vivoree Esclito Join Kuya Kim in ‘Matanglawin’ 9th Anniversary Celebration

Awesome adventures, challenges, and experiments await viewers this month as award-winning educational show “Matanglawin” celebrates nine years of being “mapanuri, mapagmatiyag, at mapangahas” starting this Sunday (March 5) on ABS-CBN.

Matanglawin 9

To kick-off the month-long celebrating, “Pinoy Big Brother” teens Marco Gallo and Vivoree Esclito will join Kuya Kim Atienza in his journey to Zoocobia to bond with parakeets, ostriches and other animal cuties and to find a very unique animal called ship of the desert, which has three lipe and three eyelids each. The multi-awarded host also goes underwater with GirlTrend Krissha Viaje to explore the great below, mingling with different sea creatures ranging from unicorn fish to golden trevallies and cownose rays in an amazing Aquanaut experience.

For nine years, “Matanglawin” has been a fun source of information and amusement for Filipino children and the young-at-heart who are able to explore nature and science, discover new tricks and trivia, and experience different cultures and traditions through the adventures of Kuya Kim. Kim has brought viewers in the middle of the jungle to see exotic animals to top destinations all over the world like Korea and Thailand. He has also inspired the kids to face their fears as he did himself, rappelling, cycling on a tight rope in Cebu, and swimming in the waters of Bohol alongside the whale sharks. Kim has also promoted care and protection of the environment with disaster-themed specials like 2013’s Three Ps (Plan, Prepare, and Practice) episode for natural calamities. Lately, he has also been making science cool again by including science experiments in the program and also featuring the works of young Filipino inventors, like the robotics projects by students of Hope Christian, Letran, and Mapua to name a few.

The show also continues to be recognized by reputable award-giving bodies like the Anak TV Awards, Star Awards, and Catholic Mass Media Awards, and student award-giving bodies like the recent 2017 Young Educators Convergence at Socksargen’s (YECS) 3rd Aral Parangal Awards, which named “Matanglawin” as Best Educational TV Program

Celebrate nine years of “Matanglawin” with Kuya Kim Atienza, Marco Gallo, Vivoree Esclito, and GirlTrend Krissha Viaje this Sunday (March 5), 10am on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN HD.
