‘Baka Bukas’ and ‘2 Cool 2 Be 4Gotten’ in Cinemas Nationwide

It’s a double cinematic treat this March as Star Cinema releases two of last year’s most talked about Cinema One Originals Festival entries – “2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten” and “Baka Bukas.”

2 Cool 2 Be Forgotten

“2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten” tells the discoveries and misadventures of Felix (Khalil Ramos), a friendless achiever in high school whose life changes after the arrival of the half-American Snyder brothers (Jameson Blake and Ethan Salvador), entangling him in their dark ambitions. The movie is set in the late 1990s in Pampanga a decade after the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.

Petersen Vargas’ dark high school comedy Bagged three awards at the 12th annual Cinema One Originals Film Festival – Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and Best Supporting Actor for “Hashtags” member, Jameson Blake.

Jameson and Ethan are both Star Magic artists and products of ABSCBN’s reality TV shows. Jameson was a former Pinoy Big Brother housemate, while Ethan was one of the top 40 finalists of Pinoy Boyband Superstar.

Khalil Ramos, also a Star Magic and Star Music recording artist, received a nomination for the Best Actor category for his portrayal of Felix. Khalil’s Star Cinema film credits include “A Second Chance” and “The Achy Breaky Hearts.”

Baka Bukas

Samantha Lee’s “Baka Bukas,” on the other hand, tells the story of Alex (Jasmine Curtis-Smith), a 20-something lesbian working multiple jobs while being secretly in love with her best friend, Jess (Louise delos Reyes). “Baka Bukas” won three awards at the 12th Cinema One Originals Film Festival as well – Best Actress for Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Best Sound, and the Audience Choice award.

Both films are hip, fresh, risky, adventurous, and hopeful. “2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten” and “Baka Bukas” pose the question to every millennial, “how much do you love your best friend?”

Witness the limitless bounds that true friendship could surpass in these two movies that every millennial and movie aficionado should not miss.

Catch 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten starting March 15 in cinema nationwide. “Baka Bukas” premiered commercially last March 1, and is still showing in Cinema 76, Cinematheque Manila, and Cinematheque Iloilo, Davao, and Zamboanga.

Cinema One, the Philippines’ number one cable channel, is available on Skycable Channel 56, Destiny Cable Analog 37, and Digital 57. Like Cinema One on Facebook at facebook.com/Cinema1channel to view full schedule.
