‘Luck at First Sight’ Graded ‘A’ by CEB, Opens May 3 in Cinemas Nationwide
Viva Films scored its first ‘A’ grade of the year from the Cinema Evaluation Board via the Dan Villegas romantic comedy movie “Luck at First Sight” starring Jericho Rosales and Bela Padilla.
SYNOPSIS:
“Luck At First Sight” tells the story of Joma Labayan (Jericho Rosales) who believes that a “life charm” would help him win money to pay for his debts. He accidentally meets Diane Dela Cruz (Bela Padilla) who gives him luck only when they are close to each other. Diane doesn’t believe this at first but left with no choice, she eventually gets along with Joma. Everything goes well for both of them until they discover that their luck will disappear if one of them falls in love with each other.
REVIEW:
“Luck At First Sight” is a well-made, skillfully directed romantic comedy driven by the charming performance of its lead actors Jericho Rosales and Bela Padilla. Sidekicks Cholo Barretto and Kim Molina provide ample laughs. Armed with a clever script, spot-on music, and a not-in-your-face life lesson, this film easily trumps other rom-coms that were shown earlier this year. Our verdict: It gets 4 stars for quality and 4.5 stars for entertainment.
