Unless there are last-minute changes (‘And no doubt there won’t be,’ according to Funfare’s Very Deep Penetration Agent/VDPA), the final…and perfect!…choice as the new Darna is Liza Soberano. This piece of ‘breaking news’ should put a period to the prolonged guessing game who the next flying woman would be, with names such as Kathryn Bernardo, Jessy Mendiola, Nadine Lustre, Pia Wurtzbach and even Sarah Geronimo thrown into the tambiolo.

‘The Kapamilya actress is now undergoing intense training,’ added the VDPA. ‘The training is being done in a secret place so that there won’t be any ‘leak’.’

Last March 20, ABS-CBN has released a statement that Angel Locsin will no longer pursue the “Darna” movie due to her medical condition. This came after a year when Locsin backed out from the project because her spine was damaged.
