Romantic Thai Movie ‘One Day’ Leaps to Inspire on Cinema One

Watch the journey of an awkward wallflower as he tries to get the perfect girl in the 2016 Thai romance drama film “One Day” which premieres on Cinema One this Sunday (July 16).

The Best Movie in Dara Daily The Great Awards is directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun who also made the hit horror film “Shutter” and the Mario Maurer-starrer “Pee Mak.”

“One Day” lead stars Chantavit Dhanasevi and Nittha Jirayungyurn received top acting honors from the 26th Thailand National Film Association Awards and Dara Daily The Great Awards 2016 for their respective roles in the film.

Thirty-year old Denchai (Chantavit), a geeky IT worker, is secretly in love with his female colleague, Nui (Nittha). Their story makes a leap when he gets his wish to be with his dream girl for one day during a company trip in Hokkaido. Nui suffers a temporary memory loss and gets a fake boyfriend in the company of Denchai.

The film has received positive reviews from critics. “Well out of their tropical element, Pisanthanakun and his talented crew adeptly adapt to Hokkaido’s snowy weather, confidently delivering an attractively packaged production,” says Justin Lowe in The Hollywood Reporter.

“‘One Day’ will traffic in broad comedy one minute, get wildly romantic the next, and then dive straight into the abyss of sorrow,” according to Thai American playwright Prince Gomolvila in his review in Thai Movie Central.
