Led by hosts Melai Cantiveros, Karla Estrada, and Jolina Magdangal, the show honored six momshies namely Azon Aguila and Rose Gumantason from Luzon, Rodilla Omillo and Lilia Demillones from the Visayas, and Juanita Abayon and Rose Cabajon from Mindanao.
Momshie Rodilla showed great courage when she saved her daughters’ lives during typhoon Yolanda, while momshie Azon showed how mothers would walk the extra mile to ensure her children’s bright future when she managed to raise eleven all by herself.
Momshie Rose was a nanny who later became a mom to her ‘alaga,’ whose father died when she was 11 years old and her mom died a month before she turned 18.
Similarly, momshie Lilia also became a mother to her godchildren and gave her time, attention, love, and more.
Momshie Juanita, meanwhile, managed to stand up again for her family after her husband left her for another woman and after she lost her third child from an accident.
Lastly, momshie Rose proved that there is nothing that a mother would not do for her daughter when she gave up her beloved profession just to take care of her sickly daughter. They even moved to Manila and started a new life just so she can give her the proper medical care.
All “Salamat Momshie” awardees received a plaque of recognition and were personally awarded on national television by no less than momshies Melai, Karla, and Jolina.
