3 Reasons to Watch Daniel Radcliffe’s RomCom ‘What If’ on TAG TV

Daniel Radcliffe takes off his wizard robe and transforms into a friendzoned boy-next-door who thinks he already met the one in the romantic comedy film “What If,” airing on cable channel TAG TV this weekend.

Wallace (Daniel) is a med school dropout nursing a broken heart who unexpectedly encounters Chantry (Zoe Kazan) at a house party. The two connect right away until Chantry shoves Wallace away and reveals that she has a boyfriend.

Here are three reasons why “What If” is a must-watch rom-com flick:

  1. It’s “When Harry Met Sally” for millennials.

Peter Travers compared the film to a rom-com classic in rollingstone.com. “This rom-com is really an updated take on ‘When Harry Met Sally’… for millennials. Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan spin sweet magic out of blah-blah-blah clichés. I like when that happens.”

  1. Adorable casting.

Jordan Hoffman cited the film’s great casting in theguardian.com. He wrote, “through it all, though, anyone without a heart black as coal will sit in the theater transforming into human mush and mumbling “aww”.The reason for this – above all else – is the casting. Radcliffe and Kazan are adorable and vulnerable and sincere in equal measure, but this really is Radcliffe’s movie.”

  1. Sparkling performances.

According to Justin Chang of variety.com, “their endless dithering is made not just tolerable but ingratiating thanks to sparkling performances and a level of wit, whimsy and self-conscious genre riffery that never gets in the way of emotional sincerity.”
