More Filipinos nationwide instantly fell in love with the story of eternal life and love in “The Promise of Forever” as the Kapamilya series starring Ejay Falcon, Ritz Azul, and Paulo Avelino recorded high national TV ratings and beat its rival program.

The series’ pilot episode last Monday (Sep 11) recorded a national TV rating of 18.4%, compared to “Haplos” with only 15.6%, according to data from Kantar Media. More viewers also continued to tune in to the Kapamilya series on Tuesday (Sep 12) as it scored 18.1%, compared to its rival program that only got 16.7%.

Netizens were also captivated by the series, which led the list of trending topics online and garnered thousands of tweets.

“It was only the first episode and yet it already made a mark! For sure many will watch out for this and I am one of them,” said @Sandiefandalio1.

“I am already crying over the pilot episode. It hurts! You can do it, Sophia,” @aatazmania shared.

“It is just the start but you can already see its quality. Good job, direk and to all the staff,” @melvillaflor26 tweeted.

“The Promise of Forever” introduced viewers to Lorenzo (Paulo Avelino), the elusive ‘immortal man’ who is now known as Nicolas, and Sophia, (Ritz Azul) whose her dream is to become a seawoman to help her family.

Destined to cross paths again, they board the same ship going to Europe. How will their reunion change their lives forever?

Also part of “The Promise of Forever” are Cherry Pie Picache, Amy Austria, Benjie Paras, Susan Africa, Ynna Asistio, and Nico Antonio. It is under the direction of Darnel Villaflor and Hannah Espia.
