Matteo Guidicelli Gears Up for His Major Concert this November Called ‘Hey Matteo’

In sports, Matteo Guidicelli is a triathlete. He can do running, swimming, and cycling in a single triathlon race.

In showbiz, the former kart racer is considered a triple threat. He can act, he can host, and he can sing.

Following the success of his major concert in his hometown Cebu last year (in celebration of his 10th year in the entertainment industry), Matteo is once again set to conquer the music scene as he gears up for his major concert this year titled “Hey Matteo” which is going to be held at the Kia Theater on November 30, 2017. He is slated to perform songs from his new album of the same name which was recently released by Star Music.

The people behind his successful concert in Cebu are also manning the “Hey Matteo” concert next month in Cubao and they are Rowell Santiago as stage director and Louie Ocampo as musical director. Bolt of Talent‘s Morissette Amon and rapper Loonie are guest performers.

During the press conference for “Hey Matteo,” the heartthrob revealed some of the things his fans can expect from his third major concert.

“The concert’s gonna feature a lot of original music, a lot of covers also, but it’s gonna be a nice session of telling stories. We’re trying the show to become very intimate, telling a story, telling a message, and just having a little more original music.”

“Music for me is truth specially my brand new album is very truthful and very vulnerable, and very open kung baga. So I hope you’ll all enjoy this, the sound is very different, the whole vibe is very 90’s pop rock. Very ‘banda’ feel.”

With regards to his sophomore album which is also called “Hey Matteo,” the actor/singer pinpointed one song that is very personal for him.

“There’s a song called ‘Take a Chance.’ It’s all about taking the chance, it’s all about, you know, just closing your eyes sometimes and just going for what you love and doing what you want to do,” he said.

Another song called “Change” describes his passion: “kung halimbawa, mahal mo ‘yung isang bagay, ‘yung trabaho, ‘yung passion mo, nobody’s gonna stop you from doing it.”

The album has 9 original songs with the carrier single “Hey!” The song is about a guy who’s courting a girl, despite knowing that her parents don’t approve. Sounds familiar? Other tracks in the album include “Tahanan,” “Huwag Ka Nang Umuwi,” “Just the Way You Are,” “Stand Up,” and “On The Edge.” The songs were composed/written by Top Suzara and other Cebuano composers.
