Kapamilya Stars Share Love and Joy Through ‘ASAP Gives Back’ this Christmas

“ASAP” stars took time off from their busy schedule this December and made some Kapamilyas’ holidays happier and more meaningful through the show’s annual program “ASAP Gives Back.”

Making this year different, “ASAP” treated selected people who were once featured in  “ASAP LSS,” a weekly segment of Jolina Magdangal  that shares life lessons from the inspirational stories of Kapamilyas.

An intimate advance birthday celebration for Nanay Josie and Tatay Innocencio Matias started off the month-long presentation. The couple serves as an inspiration to others because regardless of their lack in height, they are able to provide for their family.

Aside from their family, Alora Sasam, Ylona Garcia, Kira Balinger, BoybandPH Tristan Ramirez, Joao Constancia, Ford Valencia, Russell Reyes, and Niel Murillo, Isabella Vinzon, Klarisse de Guzman, Jona, and Martin Nievera made the celebration brighter with some gifts and a furniture set for the couple. Insipiring Nanay Josie and Tatay Innoncencio even more was Rads Sy, who was featured in the ‘Rags to Riches’ episode of “ASAP” LSS, wherein he shared his story from being a beggar to a successful businessman.

Meanwhile, momshies Emmie Desiderio, Marites Odarbe, Belen Balatucan, and Leila Barba received a makeover fit for a queen as they attended the annual I Want to Share Foundation’s Christmas Ball of the Hema-Onco Institute of the Philippine General Hospital.

Both Leila and Belen are mothers of kids who have cancer while Marites currently battles Parkinson’s disease. Emmie, however, chose to be a foster parent to some teenagers from Samar. With them in the ball were Ogie Alcasid, Jason Dy, Migz Haleco, KZ Tandingan, and Sarah Geronimo who serenaded the audience with their delightful tunes.

Tatay Marcial Angkok’s fellow PWDs or persons with disabilities and deaf-mute couple Tim O’ Hara and Ruby Lupangco  were next on the list as “ASAP” gave them a mini-Christmas party with Gary Valenciano, Moira dela Torre, Kaye Cal, Andrea Brillantes, Grae Fernandez, and Jay-r. Tatay Marcial, Tim, and Ruby prove that people with disability can still help people and be a good role model to others.

Capping the “ASAP Gives Back” for the year was a gathering led by Zsa Zsa Padilla with Daryl Ong, Jeremy Glinoga, Erik Santos, and Kim Chiu with the kids of True Manila founded by Edwin Paminian and street children teacher Dara Mae Tuazon, whose story went viral online. If Tatay Marcial helps PWDs, Edwin and Dara Mae aim to give the basic needs of the street children.

More than the world-class entertainment offered and provided weekly by “ASAP,” the show also has the heart  to help Kapamilyas who are in need.
