Jerome and Nash’s Confrontation Marks New All-Time High Rating for ‘The Good Son’

“The Good Son” ended 2017 strongly as it hit a new all-time high national TV rating last Friday (Dec 29), when the intense confrontation between Enzo (Jerome Ponce) and Calvin (Nash Aguas) led to the latter’s attempt to end his own life.

The series gripped viewers nationwide, recording a national TV rating of 21.7%, compared to 12.3% of “My Korean Jagiya,” according to data from Kantar Media.

Viewers were kept on the edge of their seats as they watched Enzo force Calvin to admit his involvement in Victor’s (Albert Martinez) death, which led to the younger Buenavidez’s attempt to end his life by jumping off an abandoned building.

The gripping episode was also a trending topic online as the show’s official hashtag #TGSAminin received thousands of tweets on Twitter. Netizens were also drawn to the outstanding performances by the cast and shared their praises on social media.

“TGS is an ensemble cast where actors are assigned equal amounts of importance & exposure. Each of them has a shining moment,” said Twitter user @direkrodel.

“Nash Aguas is brilliant. He’s young but already a veteran. He’s so good,” @rolfhrodriguez tweeted.

“Ms. Eula you are definitely a best actress! Nash, your acting is so convincing. Jerome, you improved so much! Kudos to these three brilliant actors,” YouTube user Christy Prejido commented.

The show’s all-time high rating comes on the heels of its much talked about episode in the the week of Christmas. Nash Aguas trended on Twitter last Tuesday (Dec 26) as viewers raved about his performance after his character was revealed to be suffering from a mental illness and that his friend Justine (Alexa Ilacad) was only a product of his imagination.

As the story continues, Joseph is still eager to prove that Calvin is the son of Dado (Jeric Raval) and is connected to the murder of his father. But Olivia (Eula Valdez) is already set to put her plans to work in order to stop Joseph’s investigation that will put his life at risk.

Will Joseph finally discover Calvin’s real identity? How will Olivia continue to protect her secret?
