Para Dance Sport Act Gets Angel Locsin’s Golden Buzzer in ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’

An emotional Angel Locsin surprised her co-judges as well as viewers of “Pilipinas Got Talent” Sunday night (Jan 21) when she pressed the golden buzzer for a combi para dance sport act, which involves an athlete with a physical impairment affecting the lower limbs and an able-bodied partner.

Without showing any hint, Angel suddenly pushed the button for Julius Obero, who has polio ever since he was young, and Rhea Marquez, who moved the actress with their captivating performance.

Angel commended how the two danced with so much grace without overpowering each other. When asked what made her decide to send them straight to the semi-finals, Angel said, “When people watch them a lot of them will be able to connect with them and be inspired by them. That is why, for me, they deserve the Golden Buzzer.”

The two also awed other judges like Freddie “FMG” Garcia, who gave them a standing ovation.

Robin Padilla and Vice Ganda, on the other hand, lauded Julius for his “unconditional talent,” as Vice put it.

This is the second act to get the Golden Buzzer this season, after judge Freddie “FMG” Garcia used his Golden Buzzer for the group Bardilleranz, who amazed viewers with their pull up bars act.
