PH bet Michael Martinez finished the short program round in the men’s single figure skating at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics at no. 5 on Friday, February 16, 2018, which was held at Gangneung Ice Arena.

The Filipino skater scored 55.56 points which is good for fifth place in the first group which was topped by Vincent Zhou of USA with 84.53 points.

Although his performance was tagged as “flawless,” the commentators observed that the 21-year-old had a simpler footwork compared with the leading contestants.

The top 24 skaters will advance to the free skate round tomorrow, February 17.
