Zayn Malik has released the music video for his new single “Let Me.”

According to reports, Zayn wrote “Let Me” for his now ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid. The celebrity couple just broke up last March.

The hard-hitting lyrics of the song goes: ““Baby, let me be your man, So I can love you, And if you let me be your man, Then I’ll take care of you.”

In an interview by Ryan Seacrest, here’s what Zayn had to say why he wrote the song:

“I was in love—and I think that’s pretty evident. I was aspiring to be in love with someone for the rest of my life and the rest of theirs, as we all do. Things change and we move forward in life. Times change, but that’s what I was thinking when I wrote it.”
