BLACKPINK Now the 2nd K-pop Girl Group to Chart in Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’

9 years after the Wonder Girls ranked on Billboard Hot 100 at no. 76, another K-pop girl group was able to penetrate the prestigious chart–BLACKPINK!

With BTS making waves in the US music scene, BLACKPINK seems to be the K-pop act to benefit the most with the rising popularity of the Bangtan Boys. On the charts ending June 30, the female quartet makes history as their latest single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” hit No. 55 on Billboard Hot 100.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK’s album “Square Up” is now the highest-ranked album by a Korean girl group of all time on the Billboard 200 chart as it debuted at no. 40. It will erase 2NE1’s record in 2014 when their album “Crush” peaked at No. 61.
