Vietnam Wins Man of the World 2018, PH is 1st Runner-Up
The charismatic Xuan Tai of Vietnam bested 25 other contestants to win Man of the World 2018 on Sunday, July 15, in San Juan City, Philippines. He succeeded stunning model Mostafa Galal Mohammed Elezali of Egypt, the first titleholder of the Philippine-hosted male pageant.
Philippine bet Clint Karkliñs Peralta finished first runner-up.
Completing the Top 5 are Malta’s Bjorn Camilleri (2nd runner-up), Czech Republic’s Ondrej Valenta (3rd runner-up), and Thailand’s Natapol Srisarn (4th runner-up).
Making it through the semifinals were candidates from Korea, Iran, China, India, Mongolia, and Indonesia.

This somehow duplicates the result of Mister Universal Ambassador 2017 when our very own Paul Guarnes won as first runner-up to Vietnam’s Luong Gia Huy. However, that was a convincing victory for the winner. I’m not so sure about this one. Clint Karklins has the clear edge in terms of looks, physique and eloquence. Makes you wonder if the organizers are merely wary of the stigma of a homecourt victory no matter if well deserved.
