Aljur Abrenica and Empress Schuck fight for love against all odds and until the very end as they play Vince and Patricia Hernandez this Saturday (December 15) on “Ipaglaban Mo.”

Patricia’s older sister, Jena (Bernadette Allyson) opposed the couple’s relationship because the former thinks no good future could come to their family from a humble buko vendor. As the lovers decide to elope to continue their relationship, Vince supports Patricia’s schooling until she finishes it. The couple perseveres and forge on for their livelihood and eventually end up rich with their successful buko products business.

But Jena dies apparently from her ill feelings towards Vince and Patricia. Patricia’s nieces Sandro (Ryle Santiago) and Shaira (Michelle Vito) blame their aunt for the death of their mother. Unfortunately, Patricia becomes severely ill herself. Vince stays by her side and tends to his beloved’s needs, the couple prove their love is beyond the unexpected when they decide to get married. Patricia overcomes her illness and becomes better for awhile but the newlywed’s bliss is short-lived when death catches up and separates Patricia and Vince for good.

Instead of joining Vince in mourning over the death of his wife, as the closest remaining next of kin, Sandro and Shaira go after Vince and filed a case against their uncle questioning the marriage because it wasn’t “articulo mortis” or “marriage at the point of death” since their aunt didn’t die after being married to Vince.

Vince appeals his case and fights for his rights against the insensitive and selfish Sandro and Shaira in court. Will the family ever be able to resolve their differences? Will Vince’s love for Patricia prevail?
