Chinese actor Dylan Wang was voted by netizens around the world as the Asian Drama Actor for the year 2018 via Starmometer’s online poll for the Asian Drama Awards.

The Meteor Garden star topped the poll with 126,581 votes defeating 11 other drama actors from Korea, Philippines, and Thailand by 49.43%. Wang catapulted to superstar status not only in China but the whole Asian continent for portraying the iconic role of Dao Ming Si in the Chinese remake of the hit TV adaptation of the the Japanese manga “Hana Yori Dango” (Boys Over Flowers). The 20-year-old former flight attendant is reportedly cast in the second season of “Ever Night,” a hit Chinese period drama set in the Tang dynasty.

Here are the results of our Asian Drama Actor of the Year poll:

Placing 2nd in our poll is EXO main vocalist Do Kyung-Soo who starred in the period K-drama “100 Days My Prince.” He played the role of the Crown Prince in the tvN series which marked his first small-screen leading role.

“100 Days My Prince” was a commercial success, becoming the second highest-rated cable drama in Korea for 2018 (“Mr. Sunshine” is no. 1) and fourth highest-rated Korean drama in the country’s cable television history.

In third place is ASTRO member Cha Eun-Woo* who starred in the coming-of-age drama “My ID is Gangnam Beauty.

The K-pop star’s performance as Do Kyung-Seok in the series won for him the Best New Actor trophy at the 11th Korea Drama Awards.

Completing the Top 5 are Thailand’s Nadech Kugimiya (“The Crown Princess”) and the Philippines’ Daniel Padilla (“La Luna Sangre”).
