‘The Masked Singer’ is America’s New No. 1 Show

Fox’s “The Masked Singer,” the American version of Korea’s “Mask King” from MBC, has shattered the highest viewership record of “The X Factor” which aired seven years ago.

According to “E-Daily”, the newest celebrity singing game show premiered last January 3 with 9.4 million viewers (3%), the highest for a variety program since “The X Factor” 7 years ago. It captured viewers between the ages of 18 and 49, the prime demographic for advertisers.

Hosted by Nick Cannon, “The Masked Singer” features celebrities facing off against one another with one major twist: each singer is shrouded from head to toe in an elaborate costume, complete with full face mask to conceal his or her identity. One singer will be eliminated each week, ultimately revealing his or her true identity.

“The Mask Singer” is currently making waves in America and different parts of the globe with over half a billion fans worldwide. The US version has Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke as panelists. More than 20 remakes of this show are set to premiere this year.
