World of Dance Philippines: Luis Manzano and Pia Wurtzbach to host, Billy Crawford, Maja Salvador, and Gary V to judge

Adrenaline-filled weekends await Filipinos as ABS-CBN brings the country’s newest talent search, “World of Dance Philippines,” with Luis Manzano and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach as hosts and Billy Crawford, Maja Salvador, and Gary Valenciano as judges, starting this Saturday (January 12) and Sunday (January 13).

Luis is a veteran host, who has won many awards for his skills. On the other hand, Pia will bring a new energy as a freshman host. This is the beauty queen’s biggest hosting project so far.

Meanhwile, the judges will bring their years of dance experience and expertise to the table as they find out who deserves to win the competition.

There is international R&B sensation Billy, who has made different parts of Europe dance with his hit songs; Dance Royalty Maja, whose dance battles with other celebrities always electrify crowds; and Mr. Pure Energy, Gary V, whose decades-long career has produced multiple hit dance songs, such as “Hataw Na,” “’Di Bale Na Lang,” and “Heto Na Naman.”

The winning act will get to win P2 Million and an all-expenses paid trip to the United States to give them a chance to audition in “World of Dance,” touted as the ‘biggest dance competition’ in the world.

Divided into three divisions, the contest allows contestants to showcase any dance genre. The Junior Division is open to 8 to 17 year old contestants; the Upper Division, to an individual or a group of up to 4 wo are 18 years old or older; while the Team Division is open to a group of five members or more who are 18 years old or older.

Contestants will go through the Qualifier, Duels, and The Cut rounds until they reach the Division Finals where only one per division will compete. The three winners will then dance off in the Grand Finals.

This weekend, “Sasayaw na ang Pinoy to be the Best in the World,” as “World of Dance Philippines” starts airing this Saturday, January 12, (after “MMK) and Sunday, January 13, (after Rated K) on ABS-CBN.
