Cherry Pie’s ‘Radical Love’ Earns Praise from Netizens

ABS-CBN’s new documentary “Radical Love,” which earned praises from netizens for its raw and sensitive depiction of actress Cherry Pie Picache’s story of tragedy and forgiveness, is now streaming on iWant.

The documentary, which trended on Twitter when it premiered on ABS-CBN Sunday’s Best last July 7, revisits the 2014 murder of Cherry Pie’s mother Zenaida Sison, who was found lifeless with multiple stab wounds inside her home.

After years of grieving and with the desire to truly heal, Cherry Pie was guided by her faith into making peace with her mom’s assailant this year, and their meeting was shown in “Radical Love.” This ABS-CBN DocuCentral documentary will also air on DZMM TeleRadyo on July 14 at 7 pm and on ANC on July 15 at 7 pm.

Viewers went to Twitter to discuss and laud Cherry Pie’s decision to forgive the person responsible for the death of the person she loved the most. They also commended the way the documentary team handled such a delicate topic.

“Just saw the documentary RADICAL LOVE in iWant. @Yescppicache finds the greatness of heart and the guidance of the Almighty to forgive the man who murdered her mother. This had me realizing the power of forgiveness. Watch it. #RadicalLove,” said film director, producer and producer Joey Javier Reyes.

Another Twitter user, Mond Sikawat, praised the team behind “Radical Love” for the way the documentary did justice to Cherry Pie’s experience.

“ABS-CBN’s #RadicalLove has a very good storytelling treatment. Those video supports na akala ko re-enactment which I initially thought na off ay later on revealed na BTS pala. Nice! Very raw din. Congrats, DocuCentral Team,” he said.

In a special screening of “Radical Love” held in ABS-CBN’s Dolphy Theater last week, Cherry Pie said she was initially hesitant to share her story, but hopes her experience can help others going through a similar situation.

“I hope we are all reminded of compassion, unconditional love, and forgiveness truly is. I hope we are all reminded to value and respect life in all forms. I dedicate this to my family and to all families of victims of violent crime,” she said.

Viewers may still catch “Radical Love,” produced by ABS-CBN News’ award-winning documentary team DocuCentral, online via iWant.ph or the iWant App. It will also be aired on DZMM TeleRadyo on ABS-CBN TVplus this July 14 at 7 pm, on ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel on cable on July 15 at 7 pm.
