State of the Nation Address 2019: ABS-CBN News, All Set for Multiplatform Coverage

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will deliver his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday (July 22) and Filipinos all over the world can watch, listen, or read about it, together with all the stories surrounding the speech through ABS-CBN News’ comprehensive, multiplatform coverage on ABS-CBN, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, DZMM TeleRadyo, ANC, and news.abs-cbn.com.

Leading the way in delivering up-to-the-minute news, analyses, features, and reports on key issues about #SONA2019 on TV, radio, and digital are seasoned news anchors and multi-awarded journalists Karen Davila, Julius Babao, Tony Velasquez, Karmina Constantino, Christian Esguerra, Ricky Rosales, Vic Lima, Gerry Baja and Anthony Taberna.

Davila helms ABS-CBN’s special coverage, which begins after “It’s Showtime” and will have live reports from Batasang Pambansa Complex and different points in the country from ABS-CBN News’ team of reporters and correspondents.

Esguerra, meanwhile, will anchor the broadcast from the House of Representatives and will provide live updates throughout the special coverage.

On the other hand, the special coverage on DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and DZMM TeleRadyo starts at 12 nn on Monday with Babao and Velasquez on “Headline Pilipinas” followed by the tandem of Rosales and Lima at 1 pm. Baja and Taberna will take over in the afternoon as the President begins and ends his speech. Radyo Patrol reporters Robert Mano, Zandro Ochona, and Joyce Balancio will deliver updates from Batasan.

Meanwhile, netizens can go to ABS-CBN News’ SONA 2019 site (news.abs-cbn.com/sona2019) for the latest news, special stories, and livestream of the President’s speech. As early as 10 am on SONA Day as Congress opens, breaking news and updates will be posted on the site. It will also house stories on the status of President Duterte’s previous SONA promises, “SONA-serye” pieces on key reform issues told from the eyes of the people, and a special explainer about the SONA on NXT.
