WATCH: Carlos Yulo’s Historical Performance at 2019 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships

For the first time in history, the Philippines bagged a gold medal at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships on Saturday, October 12, in Stuttgart, Germany.

The 19-year-old Pinoy gymnast scored an impressive 15.300 points during the men’s floor finals to win the gold defeating Artem Dolgopyat of Israel (15.200) who bagged the silver and China’s Xiao Ruoteng (14.933) who settled for the bronze medal.

The Philippine National Anthem was played for the very first time in the 49 editions of the world championships for gymnastics courtesy of Yulo who also qualified for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
