‘Magandang Buhay’ and ‘It’s Showtime’ Hosts Say Hello to Viewers Live from Their Homes

“It’s Showtime” and “Magandang Buhay” hosts surprised and brought joy to viewers last Thursday (March 26) as they appeared live on television via a video conferencing app.

Present at the live airing of “It’s Showtime” were Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Direk Bobet Vidanes, Karylle, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, and new mom Anne Curtis, joined the team from her home in Australia.

During the initial half of the show, which aired via the Zoom app, the madlang people still had the chance to shine as two families from Pampanga and Capiz won P15,000 with their dance covers of “Corona Ba-Bye Na,” Vice’s new single.

The hosts also had funny banters as they competed in a game where they answered a series of questions from Tiyang Amy, while the latter half of the show brought back past TNT performances.

Meanwhile, the noontime show announced its new segment “Biyayanihan” where viewers will have the chance to help others in the comfort of their homes. All they have to do is tag “It’s Showtime’s” social media accounts in videos showing people doing selfless acts for a chance to be featured and receive special gifts from the show.

Jolina Magdangal, Karla Estrada, and Melai Cantiveros, on the other hand, reunited for a morning live chat in “Magandang Buhay.” Joining them were Alex Gonzaga, who narrated her experience in packing relief goods for people affected by the enhanced community quarantine, and Pokwang, who shared simple dishes that everyone can try cooking while at home.

Public health expert Dr. Susan Mercado also appeared on the show to discuss how people can avoid contracting COVID-19, and Fr. Tito Caluag, who shared about strength and faith amid the ongoing health crisis.
