Melai and Robi Give First Golden Buzzer in ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ Season 7

Starmo Admin April 2, 2025 3 minutes read

The 31-member dance group Femme MNL became the first Golden Buzzer act of the season as the all-gay group impressed hosts Melai Cantiveros and Robi Domingo, who gave their Golden Buzzer during the second episode of “Pilipinas Got Talent” Season 7 last Sunday (March 30).

Femme MNL will be heading straight to the live semi-finals after the group impressed Melai and Robi with their precise and powerful dance performance. Melai even shared that she and Robi made up their minds during the first five seconds of the group’s performance after they were amazed by the synchronized movements of the group.

Judges Freddie “FMG” M. Garcia, Donny Pangilinan, Eugene Domingo, and Kathryn Bernardo were greatly amazed by the group. FMG described the performance as world-class, Donny and Kathryn praised the group’s artistry and passion, and Eugene applauded the group for raising the flag for the LGBT community. In “Pilipinas Got Talent,” the Golden Buzzer is a special privilege given to the four judges and the hosts, allowing them to send an act straight to the live semifinals. Each judge and the hosts can only use it once throughout the auditions. Melai and Robi awarded their Golden Buzzer to Femme MNL. With this, a total of four acts remain that can receive direct passes from the four judges to the next stage of the competition.

Meanwhile, netizens praised “PGT” for giving the spotlight to an LGBT couple, who supported their daughter in performing with her group Bini Mini. Bini Mini Belle shared that she is joined by her “two loving fathers,” earning admiration from the judges and audience.

“I can’t believe we’re in an era where different kinds of parent dynamics are fully represented on national TV—no shame, no discrimination, just love and acceptance. There’s still a long way to go, but I’m so happy,” Facebook user John Ray Pugoy said.

Viewers also got to know the judges more through their off-stage conversations, wherein Kathryn shared that she sees herself in the kid members of Bini Mini. Eugene likewise talked about her childhood dream of becoming an actress, while Donny and FMG revealed that they were business-minded as they sold load and food during their youth.

The pilot episodes of “Pilipinas Got Talent” were well-received by audiences as it garnered 275,424 peak concurrent viewers on Saturday and 246,593 viewers on Sunday.
