New Puzzle Game Called World’s Most Addictive

Remember the name Michael Fromwiller, because he just ruined your life.

An amateur game maker and World of Warcraft junkie, the San Jose State undergrad decided to break more than a few laws by creating an unauthorized clone of the great puzzle game Bejeweled (called, laughingly, Besharded) that could be played in the middle of a Warcraft session. While such insolence normally leads to a barrage of cease and desist letters, Bejeweled publisher PopCap Games opted for a much different strategy.

They hired him.

Soon, the fruit of his labor will create what might possibly be the most addictive game of all-time, as Bejeweled is set to appear as a free downloadable add-on for World of Warcraft on Thursday.

According to a preview at WoW Insider, the classic match-three timewaster is intended to be played during long flights across Azeroth and includes nifty features like persistent high score lists and in-game achievements. And if you happen to stumble into combat while swapping gems, the Bejeweled game screen will kindly disappear — sort of like our social lives after this beast arrives.

Wheel of Fortune – ABS-CBN’s Version Premiere Episode

Wheel of Fortune is the newest kapamilya game show which premiered Monday afternoon on ABS-CBN channel 2 as hosted by the Philippines’ queen of talk and game shows – Kris Aquino. The players who spinned their luck on the first episode were Martin Nievera, Mariel Rodriguez and Ruffa Gutierrez.

Ryan Agoncillo was last night’s contestant on ABS-CBN top-rating game show Kapamilya Deal or No Deal. Joining him in the studio are fiance Judy Ann Santos and the cast of Ysabella. Before the game started, Kris Aquino mentioned that broken-hearted contestants were proven lucky in the game. In contrary, contestants with a happy lovelife, like Ryan, are unlucky.

Manny Poohkiaw Wins 2 Million on 1 vs 100

Comic impersonator Manny Poohkiaw is the first contestant to swipe all members of the mob on ABS-CBN’s 1 Versus 100 to win the jackpot cash prize of 2 million pesos Saturday night.

Last night edition of the Endemol game show is dubbed as 1 versus 100 kids, where the mob is composed of 100 kids from different school. Pooh was able to answer all questions (pang-grade 5 level if you ask me) correctly.

Next Saturday, GMA will introduce a new game show imported from Fremantle called “Kakasa Ka Ba sa Grade 5?” (Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?) which, as expected, will compete with ABS-CBN’s 1 versus 100.

1 vs. 100 – New Imported Game Show on ABS CBN

Philippine TV is now getting even more exciting! After GMA 7 imported “Celebrity Duets” from Freemantle Media (American Idol, America’s Got Talent), ABS CBN have just bought the franchise to another Endemol (Big Brother, Deal or No Deal) game show, the 1 VS. 100!

1 vs. 100 is a game that pits one person against 100 others for a chance to win big bucks. The game first aired in the Netherlands as Eén Tegen Honderd, sponsored by the National Postcode Lottery and now being played in different countries.

In all versions of 1 vs. 100, one player is selected to play the game as The One against 100 other people, collectively known as The Mob (or what “Mob” translates to in the local language, although the UK version doesn’t call its group of 100 “The Mob”). Depending on the format of the game, the player can be selected randomly from the Mob, or selected independently. To win the game outright, the One must eliminate all 100 members of the Mob by answering questions correctly.

More than 20 countries have bought the franchise to 1 vs. 100 already, each has different versions but sticking with the main concept of the game. Now that 1 vs. 100 is debuting in Philippine shores, i think we are gonna love this just like Who Wants to Be A Millionaire and The Weakest Link. I’m looking forward to what ABS CBN will do for the Philippine edition of the show.

The Simpsons Wrecking Ball Game

One of the games featured in The Simpsons Movie website is the Wrecking Ball Game. The object of the game is to hit the van with the wrecking ball as hard as you can. The harder you hit, the higher the points.

This is not for the serious gamer though. The game has no ending, you just hit and hit all over again to accumulate points. If you are patient enough, you can play this all day long until you get more than 178,000 points and have your name listed in the leaderboard which is currently topped by a Mexican dude.

In the pre-playstation era, i think i was in elementary back then, the Family Computer is the hottest thing in the world. Otherwise known as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), this game console is the predecessor of PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, PSP that led to the invention of what we have now.

SydLexia.com has a chart of the best 100 games for one of the most successful game console ever made complete with screenshots and details. The no. 1 is Super Mario Bros. 3 and i totally agree! I think i spent 50% of my childhood playing that game hehehe.

Shooting the Sheeps Game to Test Your Reaction Skills

This is a game to test how fast are your reactions.

Click the tranquilizer button whenever you see a sheep leaving leaving the flock and running for freedom. There are five sheeps to stop. If you happen to shoot a dart when no sheep is running, you will receive a 3 seconds penalty.

You are a turbo-charged cheetah if you nailed the test. If you suck, you are a sluggish nail. If for the first time you play the game and you didn’t get in the “sluggish nail” category, i guess you’re good.
