‘Stairway to Heaven’ Hits No. 1 in Mega Manila

Last Friday, followers of Survivor Philippines Palau awaited the conclusion of the top-rating reality program but Stairway to Heaven stole the spotlight.

Last Thursday, Stairway to Heaven hit a high rating of 36.4 percent. But it was Friday night when the koreanovela remake stole the no. 1 position from Darna.

The finale episode of Survivor Philippines Palau registered 31.3% in Mega Manila which is good for third place. Although It wasn’t able to top the primetime race, it bested its 30.8% pilot episode last August.

Firepower: Pacquiao VS Cotto Hits 45.8% Nationwide

The GMA telecast of Firepower: Pacquiao Versus Cotto registered an expected 45.8% in the nationwide tv ratings of Taylor Nelson Sofres.

The delayed telecast topped all programs last Sunday. Placing second is the primer of the Pacquiao VS Cotto bout which was aired before the main event. In third place was Rated K.

ABS-CBN Dominates 3rd Quarter 2009 TV Ratings

ABS-CBN dominated the national ratings and audience share in the third quarter of 2009, bringing consolidated airtime revenues to P10.68 billion in the first nine months of the year or a 5% improvement over last year.

In a press briefing held yesterday, Head of Corporate Planning and Investor Relations Charles Gamo disclosed that ABS-CBN earned P3.96 billion in airtime revenues from July to September or an average of P1.32 billion a month.

This increase, according to Gamo, is mainly attributed to ABS-CBN’s efforts to spice up its afternoon and primetime weekday programming with a combination of drama and comedy offerings.

On weekday afternoons, Mexican telenovela “Maria De Jesus,” and the Precious Hearts Romances installment “Ang Lalaking Nagmahal Sa Akin” continued to cater to Kapamilya’s core viewers while “Banana Split: Daily Servings” brought fresh fun and laughter to a wider audience mix.

New drama programs “Katorse,” “Lovers in Paris,” and “Dahil May Isang Ikaw,” on the other hand, bolstered ABS-CBN’s already strong weekday primetime line-up that includes “TV Patrol World,” “Showbiz News Ngayon,” and widely followed “May Bukas Pa.”

According to the TNS National Urban Philippine TV ratings service for the third quarter, ABS-CBN kept its total day ratings at the 18-point level versus GMA7’s 13-14 points while its national total-day audience shares stayed at the 46-47 level, maintaining a double digit lead over GMA7 of at least 11 percentage points.

Meanwhile, primetime ratings of ABS-CBN stayed at the 30-points level with a 9-10 point lead against the rival network. Its primetime audience share also continues to remain at the 50-51 percentage-points level.

For October 2009, ABS-CBN has 17 of the top 20 programs nationwide, with all of its primetime launches in the third quarter – “Katorse,” “Lovers in Paris,” “Dahil May Isang Ikaw,” and “Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla”– in the top 10 and all editions of the recently launched “Pinoy Big Brother Double Up” breaking into the top 20 list.

ABS-CBN’s primetime programs also held nine of the top ten slots for October 2009, led by “TV Patrol World,” “May Bukas Pa,” “Katorse,” “Lovers in Paris” and “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

This is the second consecutive week that Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla topped the nationwide race for Saturday. Sharon, on the other hand, was last Sunday’s over-all leader.

Gerald Anderson finally reached the summit as his show “Tiagong Akyat” topped the Top 20 programs last Saturday, October 31, based on the overnight survey of Taylor Nelson Sofres in nationwide households.

Gerald Anderson is also expected to hit no. 1 in the tv ratings this coming Saturday for his dramatic performance in Maalaala Mo Kaya.

The ABS-CBN teleserye “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” is becoming a threat to Mega Manila leadership of GMA’s “Darna”.

In the latest survey of AGB Nielsen (Oct. 28, 2009) in Mega Manila households, the ABS-CBN teleserye “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” starring Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa accumulated 31.2% and tied at no. 1 with GMA’s Darna.

In the following night (Oct. 29), Darna lost the no. 1 position to 24 Oras. Dahil May Isang Ikaw dropped to number 4 to tie with May Bukas Pa. Stairway to Heaven, on the other hand, stayed in 3rd place.

‘Talentadong Pinoy’ Reclaims No. 1 Spot in Mega Manila

TV’s Talentadong Pinoy, the first reality talent competition of its kind in the country, is back on top of the AGB Mega Manila charts.

Hosted by Ryan Agoncillo, TV5’s talent program succumbed to the pilot episode of Bitoy’s Showwwtime last week. But this time around, Talentadong Pinoy returns with a vengeance by garnering a whopping 23.8% beating all rivals such as MMK (18.9%), Bitoy’s Showwwtime (17.5%), 24 Oras Special Edition (19%) and The Singing Bee (14.4%).
