In time for his film The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Robert Pattinson has been named Sexiest Man Alive, at least by Glamour UK magazine and NOT by People Magazine.

Robert Pattinson bested teen heartthrobs like Zac Efron and Chace Crawford, and veterans like George Clooney and Brad Pitt to be Glamour magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.

Just Jared and other Hollywood websites posted earlier that Robert Pattinson is People’s Sexiest Man Alive but to the disappointment of millions of Twilight followers around the world, People magazine picked Johnny Depp instead.

Coco Martin is the Next Big Star!

The indie prince of Philippine cinema is this year’s next big star!

Rodel Nacianceno, better known as Coco Martin, started out in showbiz as one of the members of Star Circle Batch 9. Although managed by ABS-CBN’s talent management agency, Star Magic, his career didn’t really take off back then because he decided to finish his education.

Year 2006 is when Coco starred in his debut film Masahista (Masseur) by Brilliante Mendoza. He won the Young Critics Circle Best Actor Award the same year for portraying the role of a young masseur in the highly-acclaimed indie movie. He starred next in another indie, Kaleldo (Summer Heat), in 2006. More indie film projects came to Coco which became his stepping stones to harness his craft.

Early in 2007, Coco became an exclusive artist of GMA Network, and appeared in several GMA TV shows starting with Daisy Siete Season 15. He is also a member of the now defunt boy-group The Studs. He was also seen in the independent gay-oriented film Daybreak with Paolo Rivero.

In 2008, he returned to ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation as an exclusive artist and became a prominent celebrity appearing in major TV drama series. He received rave reviews from his portrayal of Ramon in the CMMA best drama series Tayong Dalawa (The Two of Us) with Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca where he portray as the main antagonist. Currently, he is starring in his new soap opera called Nagsimula sa Puso with Maja Salvador as his love team.

Coco Martin is currently being anticipated as the next rising star. He is now the newest member (or should i say returning member) of Star Magic, the management company that will handle his promising career. He is now featured in Wow Ulam’s tv commercial (CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO).

Furthermore, ABS-CBN is giving him his first starring role on television: Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla presents Tonyong Bayawak, coming in 2010. His character in the series will have the abilities and characteristics of the known lizard, Bayawak.

Coco is turning 26 years old this November 1, 2009.

Michael Manansala Wins Mister International Philippines 2009

Michael Manansala, a 23 years old freelance model, is declared the winner of Mister International Philippines 2009.

Michael Manansala stands 6′2″, one of the tallest among the 15 candidates. He hails from Pampanga and he dreams of becoming an actor someday.

Michael won P50,000.00 in cash and the privilege to represent the country in the upcoming Mister International 2009 pageant to be held later this year in Taiwan.

It is interesting to note that Michael Manansala was only a replacement for candidate no. 16, Francis Soo, whose grandmother in Davao has died.

Ryan Roberts was supposed to be the original delegate of the Philippines in Mister International 2008 in Taiwan but because he got sick during the pageant, he was replaced by 1st runner up Jeff Surio. Jeff was among the semi-finalists of Mister International 2008.

‘Boylets’ Opens in Selected Cinemas

Crisaldo Vicente Pablo, the director of contoversial skin flicks such as Showboyz, Quicktrip, Duda and Moreno is back with another provocative gay-themed digital film called “Boylets.”

Boylets stars newcomers Joeffrey Javier, Charles Delgado, Rusty Adonis and Francis Sienes.

Boylets is about teenage Krys who is from a middle class family and his bunch of out of school friends who pass the time stealing copper electric wires and steel, betting cash in online computer games and doing sexual services to gay patrons. Krys’ best friend Joef is the leader of the pack and he is turning eighteen and is leaving the next day. Krys tries to control Joef’s last day and birthday celebration as he attempts to stop him from his plans. But will Krys be able to stop the guy he likes from leaving?

The film is showing on October 14, 2009 in selected theaters: Robinsons Galleria, Remar-Cubao, Isetann-Recto, and soon to be shown in Cebu and Davao.

The 16 finalists vying to become the Philippine representative in the upcoming Mr. International pageant are named.

Mister International Philippines 2009 will receive 50,000Php and a round trip ticket to Taiwan, the First Runner Up will receive 20,000Php while the Second Runner Up will receive 10,000Php.

Starstruck Ultimate Hunk, Aljur Abrenica, is on the cover of S Magazine’s October 2009 issue.

In the said issue, S Magazine released their Top 20 Sexiest Bachelors in Showbiz and numero uno in their list is GMA’s very own, Aljur Abrenica.

Aljur evolved this year as a hot hunk possessing one of the sexiest bodies in Philippine showbiz. Last month, Aljur was selected by Cosmopolitan Magazine as one of their 10 Centerfold Hunks for 2009. And earlier this year, Aljur topped our annual poll–100 Sexiest Men in the Philippines–being voted as RP’s Sexiest Man of 2009.

Aljur has a movie currently showing in theaters entitled “Nandito Ako…Umiibig Sa ‘Yo.” The Regal Films’ romantic drama is Aljur’s first starring role in a movie together with his onscreen partner, Kris Bernal.

Aljur is also the newest Bench endorser. He is now seen on billboards and print ads for Bench’s Raw Overhauled Jeans.

RP’s Sexiest Man of 2009, Aljur Abrenica, has now become the Bench endorser for Raw Overhauled Jeans.

Aljur’s on-screen (and off-screen?) partner Kris Bernal is also the latest endorser for Bench’s female clothing line called HerBench.

Rosalinda star Carla Abellana was the last kapuso star to sign an endorsement contract for the leading clothing line in the country.

Aljur and Kris are now busy promoting their launching movie “Nandito Ako…Nagmamahal Sa ‘Yo” which had a successful premiere night at the SM Megamall despite the heavy rainfall.
