Pop Rock Princess Yeng Constantino, a consistent honoree of the MYX Music Awards, is nominated once again at the said awards show this year.

Yeng, nominated as Favorite Artist and Female Artist, has established herself as one of the most prolific, talented young talents of her generation.

She recently staged her hit pre-Valentine’s Day concert Ok Lang Maging Single sa Valentine’s Day, which packed the Music Museum last week.

Yeng’s latest single Pag-Ibig, a song about unconditional love written by Yeng especially for the concert, was launched online and reached 1 million views on Youtube a few days after. It is still one of the top songs in the MYX Daily Top 10.

Yeng is being managed by Erickson Raymundo’s Cornerstone Talent Management Center.

This year’s announcement of MYX Music Awards’ nominees last February 8 (Wednesday), 3 p.m., was more special and fun, as it was witnessed live via the top music channel’s equally patronized online platform www.myxph.com.

Last year was believed to be the emergence of fresh OPM acts and the return to original compositions. That’s why MYX Channel Head Andre Allan Alvarez wants to continue the channel’s legacy, as he aims to jumpstart OPM’s new Golden Age

It can be recalled that the 70’s was the Golden Age of OPM. Now, the MYX Music Awards proudly brings back this colorful era with a series of offerings that every music lover will surely love.

He added that every music and artist—be it rock, pop, R&B, etc.—has its own potential of getting known worldwide.

Charice has come a long way since American talk show hosts Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres discovered her through YouTube. It paved the way for Charice to become an international recording artist, perform in different parts of the world and even bag a recurring role in the hit TV musical “Glee.”

Her debut international album called “Charice” was very successful. Upon its release in 2010, the album entered the Billboard 200 at number-eight, making Charice the first Asian singer in history to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart.

And now Charice is back for her second international studio album titled “Infinity.” The said album was actually released exclusively early in Japan on October 5, 2011 by Warner Records. And in preparation for its official worldwide release, Charice will be launching a seven-city tour across Asia. The tour will begin on March 2, 2012, in Dubai and then in Manila (Philippines), Hong Kong (China), Seoul (Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Singapore (Singapore) and Hawaii (USA.)

The Bruno Mars composition–”Before It Explodes”–was released as lead single of “Infinity” last April 18, 2011. “Louder” was released as the album’s second single bundled with another track titled “Lost the Best Thing” on May 20, 2011. “One Day,” on the other hand, was released as promotional single as a part of Acuvue’s “ACUVUE® 1•DAY Contest”. Both “Louder” and “One Day” have an accompanying music video released in later dates.

In the exclusive Japanese release of the album, “Far as the Sky” was released as a promotional single in Japan on July 27, 2011. The track was also the theme song of the popular Japanese drama series, “Bull Doctor.” “New World” was then released as the second promotional single in Japan and will be featured on the upcoming Square Enix RPG Final Fantasy XIII-2.

It’s interesting to note that Japan is the 2nd biggest market in music in the world next to the US. Charice‘s “Infinity” peaked at no. 8 on Billboard Japan album chart.

Ok Lang Maging Single sa Valentines is undeniably the kind of concert that only a performer like Yeng could pull off.

Throughout the concert, directed by Dido Camara, Yeng belted out songs with so much ease, clarity, honesty, character, and confidence.

Yeng started the show on a high note with her rendition of Bon Jovi’s You Give Love A Bad Name. The jampacked Music Museum stood and danced in support of their Pop Rock Princess.

Throughout the concert, she exhibited excellent command of her performance and audience while belting out songs with so much ease, clarity, honesty and confidence.

Yeng also performed her versions of Adele’s Someone Like You and Alicia Keys’ If I Aint Got You.

Three special medleys were also included in the repertoire that tackled different love themes – Being Single (Mahirap Magmahal ng Syota ng Iba, Mr. Kupido, Kung Ako Na Lang Sana, Pers Lab), Being Alone (Goodbye To Love, Hiding Inside Myself, Bluer Than Blue), and Hope (Wag Na Matakot, Umaaraw, Umuulan, 214, With A Smile).

Yeng was joined by Jovit Baldivino in a special duet of the latter’s hit Too Much Love Will Kill You. Paolo Valenciano, meanwhile, had a Kamusta Ka Na-Tag-Ulan duet with the Pop Rock Princess.

Her current single Pag-Ibig was also performed to the delight of her fans, which packed the entire venue. Erik Santos, Richard Poon, Christian Bautista, Rachelle Ann Go, Yael Yuzon, K-la Rivera, and Yael Yuzon also supported Yeng. Sam Milby, who is now in the US, opened the show with a special VTR as Yeng’s ex-boyfriend.

She closed her concert the same way she started it – on a high note with another Bon Jovi song It’s My Life.
