Angelica Panganiban’s role in Rubi is both loved and hated at the same time. People are affected with every scenario— some are irritated, others find it funny and amusing. Thus, Angelica is grateful for the overwhelming support of the fans. “Sobrang thankful ako sa mga nanonood ng Rubi kaya binibigay ko talaga yung 100 percent ko dito para worth it naman ang panonood nila,” Angelica related.

In the forthcoming episodes, the story intensifies when Sylvana (Cherie Gil) demands Rosana (Cherrie Pie Picache) to be imprisoned for kidnapping Rubi. Rosana defends herself by saying that she only found Rubi on the streets and adopted the child as her own. Meanwhile, Rubi now lives in Arturo’s residence with Sylvana and Maribel (Shaina Magdayao) but she feels unhappy because of Sylavana constantly being compares her with Maribel.

Good news to all avid viewers of the leading afternoon drama in ABS-CBN “Magkano Ang Iyong Dangal!” This Friday, you’ll surely be glued to your TV sets as new character Tania is set to be introduced. Tania will be played by in demand singer-actress today, Karylle.

During her first taping day for Dangal last Wednesday, Karylle shared her excitement over her new TV project, “Natutuwa ako that I’m part of the show. Medyo matagal din kasi akong nag-rest. Puro kanta-kanta ang inaatupag ko sa buhay. Masaya ako sa pagkanta pero deep down talagang nami-miss ko ‘yung pag-arte. Natutuwa din ako especially dahil ang cute-cute ni Sid (Lucero), tawag siya nang tawag na sobra siyang excited at na-feel ko talagang welcome ako sa show. Kaya lalong nakakagana.”

According to Karylle, she’s excited to be part once again of the everyday lives of the Kapamilya viewers, “Noong nagpunta ako ng States, na-meet ko ‘yung mga TFC viewers and nakita ko kung gaano nila sinusuportahan ‘yung mga soap at minamahal ‘yung mga characters na napapanood nila araw-araw. Pinapa-tape pa nila!“

In the story, Karylle will be playing the role of Tania. And according to Karylle, she has certain similarities with the character.

When asked about being teamed up again with former Dahil May Isang Ikaw co-star Sid Lucero, the singer-actress only had good words to share, “Very excited ako! Pagdating ko nga sa set, ang kulit-kulit niya. Kinuha niya ‘yung gitara at kinantahan ako kaagad. We’re very very close kasi matagal na kaming nagkatrabaho. Malakas ang suporta namin sa isa’t isa. Medyo nangangapa lang ako ulit ngayon syempre first taping after a long time.” Karylle added, “Sa Dahil May Isang Ikaw, marami sa mga viewers ang nag-akalang magkakatuluyan ‘yung character ni Sid na si Red at si Denise. So feeling ko ito ‘yung kadugtong no’n. ‘Yung mga inisip nilang baka mangyayari noon, dito na lang siguro nila abangan kung mangyayari.”

With Karylle’s character getting in, ‘Magkano Ang Iyong Dangal will surely be more intriguing. What will be the role of Tania (Karylle) play in the lives of Nilo (Sid), Troy (Rayver Cruz) and Carmela (Bangs Garcia)? Will she be the key to the reunion of Nilo and Carmela? Or will she be the cause of the total ruin of the two’s marriage?

Don’t miss Director Chito Roño’s ‘Magkano Ang Iyong Dangal!’ Weekdays, after Wowowee on ABS-CBN.

The grand finals of TV5’s “Talentadong Pinoy” topped the primetime race last Saturday beating erstwhile leader Pilipinas Got Talent.

On the other hand, Kapuso Movie Festival featuring the horror film “Sundo” and the replay of Diva trumped ASAP XV.

The only special program which failed to beat its competition was the telecast of Bb. Pilipinas 2010. The first part of the pageant did not beat ABS-CBN’s “Melason in Love.”

For last Monday’s battle, Panday Kids snatched the no. 1 slot from Agua Bendita which dropped to third place. Placing second was The Last Prince. Will this be a one-night thing or will it continue in the coming nights?

Is Precious Hearts Romances Kristine and Oyo Boy’s last tv project?

For the first time, real-life sweethearts Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto will be teaming up for a mini-series of Precious Hearts Romances (PHR) of ABS-CBN. But with the circulating rumors of them planning to get married soon, will this be Kristine and Oyo’s last project as single people?

During the recent pictorial and promo shoot for PHR presents Quikilig “Lumang Piso para sa Puso”, Oyo denied reports that he and girlfriend Kristine tied the knot in United States. “If ever na dumating ‘yung time na ikakasal kami, everyone will know. Pero kung anuman yung meron kami ngayon, I just want it to be private. Pero hindi totoo yun na nagpakasal na kami ni Tin sa Amerika.”

The fourth installment of the Quikilig series will be sort of a ‘reunion project’ for Oyo and Kristine as their team up was last seen in 2008 in the Kapamilya afternoon soap Prinsesa ng Banyera. Two years after, the two will once again charm the viewers with their unique onscreen chemistry in a peculiar romantic comedy.

In the story, Sandra (Kristine), an ordinary government employee, desperately needs money so she decided to sell her departed grandmother’s antique coin to hobbyshop owner and coin collector Dave (Oyo). But after using the money, Sandra has been unceasingly haunted by her lola in her dreams, which really made her feel guilty. So she decided to get the coin back from Dave. But Dave rejected Sandra’s offer.

Determined to get back her lola’s precious coin, Sandra thought of no other solution but to steal it from Dave! Will Sandra succeed in breaking-in Dave’s shop? What will Dave do when he discovers that the coin that he’s been searching for a long time is missing?

Also starring Niña Jose, DJ Durano, Angel Jacob, Mariel Sorino of PBB Double Up and under the direction of Rechie del Carmen who is also Kristine’s director on Dahil May Isang Ikaw. Don’t miss the newest afternoon craze, Precious Hearts Romances presents Quikilig: Lumang Piso para sa Puso, after Pilipinas Got More Talent starting March 15 on ABS-CBN.

Bernadette Sembrano brings you practical and relevant information on important health issues every weekend as she becomes the new anchor of “Salamat Dok” beginning Saturday (March 6).

Known as the face of ABS-CBN public service, Bernadette takes on a new challenge on her broadcasting career as she joins this award-winning public service program.

“I’m very happy and at the same time challenged with this new project. I’m glad to be part of a show which shares my ideals and advocacies as a journalist. This is a good opportunity for me to help people in need and at the same time share my knowledge on current health issues which the public should pay attention to and be very much aware of,” said Bernadette.

In 2006, Bernadette hosted the public service program “Nagmamahal, Kapamilya” which featured heartwarming stories of Filipinos abroad and follows their emotional reunions with their families.

Bernadette also leads ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs public service segment “Hulog ng Langit,” airing regularly on “TV Patrol World,” that aims to unite those in need to those who are capable of providing help. The same segment will now be part of “Salamat Dok.”

“Viewers can adopt a patient in this segment. Just like the usual ‘Hulog ng Langit,’ this aims to help indigent Pinoys who need medical help but do not have financial means,” said Production Manager Marielle Catbagan.

“Salamat Dok” begins its Halalan Presidential Healthwatch segment that will check on the presidential candidate’s health issues and conditions. Sen. Dick Gordon is up first this week and he will personally talk about what he eats and what he does to keep himself fit. Gordon will also share his stand on reproductive health and universal health insurance debates.

Meanwhile, the show will still conducting live medical missions packed with a live studio audience every week where they can ask featured doctors on the spot and get answers or advice right away.

Don’t miss “Salamat Dok” with Bernadette Sembrano, Saturdays at 6 AM, and Sundays at 7:30 AM on ABS-CBN.

“AmBisyon2010,” a project of ANC, gathers 20 Filipino filmmakers to create films on the ten issues that will determine the 2010 elections. Given film grants and full creative freedom, the directors have offered their talents for free in this monumental collaboration.

“This is a chance for me to say my piece on the state of the country and how it’s being run by our leaders,” said acclaimed TV and film director Jeffrey Jeturian.

Cannes Film Festival winner Brillante Mendoza says he wants to show truth. “I was asked before, bakit puro kahirapan ang pinapakita mo sa Pilipinas? Gusto kong ipakita ‘yun kasi ‘yun ang realidad. I’m showing this because I have hopes,” he said.

For critically acclaimed activist filmmaker Kiri Dalena, whose “Requiem for M” tackles the Maguindanao massacre, amBisyon2010 is a way of remembering the names and faces of the lost. “Even if you believe you can’t achieve justice, you still have to keep telling the story.”

Scorpio Nights 2 and Mano Po director Erik Matti says he doesn’t trust most of the presidential candidates—“They’re not really presidentiables, but they all want to be presidents!” He hopes the 20 films will connect with viewers and help them make their decisions in the polling booth. Matti’s animated “Da More Da Menier” is a tongue-in-cheek look at population with a white-breaded God, dancing cavemen, and an apple shortage in the Garden of Eden.

Human rights, education, population, corruption, poverty and health are just some of the pressing issues given light and a new perspective in “amBisyon2010.”

Joining Matti, Jeturian, Dalena and Mendoza in the project are ten other respected names in the Philippine film scene – Ditsi Carolino, Emman Dela Cruz, Henry Frejas, Jade Castro, Ellen Ramos, Jon Red, Jerrold Tarog, John Torres, Paolo Villaluna, and Raymond Red as well as promising directors Sunshine Matutina, Pam Miras, Aissa Penafiel, Emerson Reyes, Gym Lumbera, and McRobert Nacario.

“AmBisyon2010” will also have a grand theatre screening on April 6, followed by a five-part television premier of the 20 films on ANC starting April 10.

“Bayanijuan” is a campaign that aims to give back to communities through a feeding program to address hunger and malnutrition among the country’s poorest.

Originally conceptualized by the ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. as an advocacy integrating all its units, “Bayanijuan” re-imagines the Filipino volunteer spirit, or “bayanihan,” as a force to create a better, more compassionate Philippines for ourselves and our children.

Since its launch last 12 June 2008, “Bayanijuan” helped a total of 3,324 beneficiaries from nine provinces nationwide. It also created nationwide awareness that partners want to align with the project and more similar feeding programs are being implemented on various regions nationwide.

The Anvil Awards is an annual event organized by the PRSP that honors outstanding public relations programs and tools.

ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. also won recognition from the “Ani ng Dangal Awards 2010,” which honors Filipinos who have won international awards and prizes. AFI’s “Bantay Bata 163 10th Anniversary Special” received the Gold World Medal for Best Variety Special from the 2009 New York Festivals International Television Broadcasting Awards last year.
