ASAP has released a music video of the EDSA People Power theme song “Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo” featuring selected Kapamilya stars.

“Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo” is written by Jim Paredes for the People Power Revolution 25 years ago. It’s now being revived by Star Records featuring Kapamilya stars including Gary Valenciano, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Jovit Baldivino, Erik Santos, Aiza Seguerra, Toni Gonzaga, Jed Madela, Christian Bautista, Juris, Yeng Constantino, Vina Morales, and Piolo Pascual among others.

ASAP’s People Power ‘EDSA 25′ Music Video originally appeared on Starmometer on February 20, 2011.

Actually it was a surprise prepared by the staff of ASAP Rocks.

During the first number, Piolo performs “I’ll Be There For You” from the tv series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and half-way through the song, Xyriel Manabat and Zaijan Jaranilla, his son in the fantaserye “Noah” joined him onstage.

The two child stars exited afterwards as the music changed from upbeat to mellow as Piolo is about to perform his second number.

When Piolo was singing his second song–”I Want To Hold Your Hand” by the Beatles–his son Iñigo Pascual showed up on video singing the same song. Piolo, who was surprised and already teary-eyed that moment continued the song as if he was singing duet with his son live on stage.

After the song, Iñigo uttered a short but sweet greeting to his father.

“Happy Birthday Pa I Love You,” he said.

So perhaps Alfie Lorenzo now believes that “Iñigo” is real and not just an “imaginary” son of Piolo as he claimed he is.

ASAP beauties Melissa Ricks, Toni Gonzaga, Nikki Gil, Iya Villania and Kim Chiu danced the “Nobody” choreography. They could have been a nice Pinoy version of the Wondergirls, if only they sang the song and not just danced to the song. Hope they’ll perform it next time, it will be very interesting. Nevertheless, the five girls were so cute doing the Wondergirls’ “Nobody” routine.

In SOP, on the other hand, Dennis Trillo sang an acoustic version of “Nobody” with back-up vocals from La Diva and other SOP female singers. I must say that Dennis Trillo’s version rocks! It’s a refreshing version of the song and it should be made into a single. Sayang nga lang di ko narecord ng buo.
