ABS-CBN will tour around the nation to find the Philippines’ best singers, dancers, musicians, and other notable acts regardless of age and gender.

“Luis and I will serve as the contestants’ big brothers here. We will get to know them and their stories, which I think is something the audience should and will really look forward to,” said Billy, who admitted to be a fan of the Got Talent search in the US before coming to Manila last year to host “Pinoy Dream Academy” last year.

Luis and Billy will be the Philippine counterpart of Britain’s Ant and Dec. They will be using their wits, humor, and charm as they guide Got Talent hopefuls throughout their journey and perform before a set of judges.

“I am really excited to host ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ and of course to work with Billy on a show for the first time. We do Kanto boys in ‘ASAP 09,’ we hang out outside of showbiz, and I think our chemistry is something everyone should watch out for, on we are going to spice up the show with our antics,” said Luis.

“Pilipinas Got Talent” will feature Filipinos in different acts. The show is open to all— regardless of age; be it solo, duo, or group— who got the talent in singing, dancing, acting, or even unique skills such as doing magic, juggling, and stand-up comedy.

Filipinos like Madonna Decena and Charlie Green already proved that Filipinos are talented as they made it to the semi-finals of Got Talent’s most popular format “Britain’s Got Talent.”

“Filipinos are very talented and these talents can be at par with the rest of the world. The burden on deciding who among the hopefuls lies on the judges now. It will not be an easy task for sure,” Billy said.

“And our judges’ credentials are impeccable. They have an eye for talent and the contestants will surely learn and grow as they go through the different stages of the competition. They just need to give it their best and enjoy what they will be doing,” added Luis.

Auditions will also be held on Cebu on Nov. 11, 12, and 13; Baguio on Nov. 19, 20, 21; Cagayan De Oro on Nov. 25, 26, and 27; Davao on Nov 30, Dec. 1 and 2 ; and Manila on Dec 5, 6, 12, and 13.

Charice and Billy Crawford interpreted the theme song entitled “Dahil Tayo’y Pilipino” for the 15th year anniversary station ID of The Filipino Channel (TFC).

Group 1 opted for a 60’s inspired “Hair Spray” presentation with a twist that the guys will play a female role and the girls will play the male role. They also danced to the tune of Low and Disturbia. The group is composed of John Prats, Shaina Magdayao, Sheryn Regis, Rafael Rosell, Zanjoe Marudo, Gabs Valenciano, Toni Gonzaga, and Gary Valenciano among others.

Group 2 is led by Vhong Navarro. They performed Michael Jackson hits. This group is composed of Sam Milby, Christian Bautista, Sarah Geronimo, Gerald Anderson, Anne Curtis, Erik Santos, Rayver Cruz, Jericho Rosales, and Vina Morales.

Group 3 is led by Billy Crawford. They performed a school-movie musicals inspired number. This group is composed of Piolo Pascual, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Karylle, Mark Bautista, Maja Salvador, Kim Chiu, Nikki Gil, Ronnie Liang, Arnel Pineda, Melissa Ricks, Jed Madela and John Lloyd Cruz.

Billy Crawford (born Billy Joe Crawford on May 16, 1982) is a bilingual Filipino international pop star with musical influences from R&B, Pop, and Soul. Billy Crawford became known around Europe and Asia with song titles such as “Trackin’”, “When You Think About Me”, “Never My Love”, “Steamy Nights” and “Bright Lights”. Billy can speak Tagalog, English, Cebuano and French.

Billy started as an actor when he was a child via the now defunct teen variety show on GMA 7, “That’s Entertainment.” He later launched his singing career in Europe where he released 5 best-selling albums. In 2002, he won the NRJ Best Newcomer of the Year in Cannes, France. The next year, he won the NRJ Best International Male Artist of the Year beating Usher and Robbie Williams.

This year, he hosted Pinoy Dream Academy’s Uberture on ABS-CBN. He is also one of the current hosts of the musical variety show ASAP. He was also named one of Cosmopolitan Philippines’ 10 Centerfold Hunks of 2008.

Aside from Billy, Priscilla Meirelles Almeida from Brazil will co-host the Miss Earth 2008 pageant. Priscilla, who won Miss Earth 2004, is now a ramp model in the Philippines.

Last year, MTV Veejay Greg “Utt” Panichkul of Thailand was the host of Miss Earth pageant.

This year’s theme is “wild and wet” and find out the 69 chosen hunks in the special supplement of Cosmopolitan Magazine called “Cosmo Men”. The supplement features 30 glossy pages containing 69 half-naked men in their wetness glory.

Two days ago, we revealed the 10 Centerfold Hunks for 2008 and they are (aside from Derek) Jon Avila, Macky Escalona, Bruce Quebral, Ron Morales, Akihiro Sato, Geoff Eigenmann, Rocky Salumbides, Billy Crawford, and Paolo Contis. 6 of them are kapamilya stars namely Jon, Derek, Bruce, Ron, Geoff and Billy. On ABS-CBN’s 2nd quarter trade presentation to advertisers last April 23, many were surprised when the saw Billy Crawford billed as the host of Pinoy Dream Academy season 2. It was earlier reported that Ryan Agoncillo, former host of Philippine Idol, will host the season 2 of PDA but instead, it was presented that Billy Crawford will take the job with Toni Gonzaga and Nikki Gil as co-hosts.

According to a GMA-7 executive, Billy was about to host a new dance reality competition on the kapuso network called “Dance Match.” They are just waiting for him to return from the States. So the news about Billy hosting PDA was definitely a big surprise that even his manager Raul Laurente, did not know it.
