In the daytime race, the first offering of Kapuso Movie Festival which is Resiklo, failed to topple Showtime although it garnered a double-digit rating.

Pinoy Bingo Night ended its run last Friday placing 9th in the primetime race with 19.7 percent rating. The Kris Aquino game show lasted for only 3 months since it premiered last March 30.

As expected, ABS-CBN once again dominated the tv ratings nationwide with almost all of its shows beating their rival kapuso programs.

With the exception of the Saturday’s morning block when GMA’s children and teen shows trumped its rival shows on ABS-CBN. These shows are:

Two new programs held their pilot episodes last Monday night. GMA’s “All My Life” premiered in the pre-primetime timeslot with 17.2 percent. It wasn’t able to beat its rival, Boys Over Flowers, which garnered 27.5 percent. ABS-CBN’s The Wedding, on the other hand, debuted in the late primetime timeslot with 22 percent beating the koreanovela Cruel Love which only got 13.2 percent.

The Korean F4, on the other hand, are starting to have Pinoy followers as their “Boys Over Flowers” garnered 24.6% last Monday night placing 8th in the primetime race.

The new GMA game show, the Power of 10, as hosted by Janno Gibbs debuted at no. 5 in the primetime race last Sunday with 20.7%. Sunday’s primetime was ruled by Rated K followed by the Singing Bee.

Precious Hearts Romances Presents the Bud Brothers was able to beat erstwhile leader Wowowee last Monday in the daytime race. The kapamilya soap hit the no. 1 position with 23.2 percent. The primetime race, on the other hand, is still ruled by May Bukas Pa.

The victory party prepared by GMA-7 to Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao entitled “Pacmania: Welcome sa Pambansang Kamao” which was held at the SM Mall of Asia topped the daytime race last Friday with 24.4 percent. Erstwhile daytime leader, Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?, dropped to 4th place.

Last Saturday, Janno Gibbs‘ Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5 ended its run with 21.2% which is good for 5th place. Ryan Agoncillo‘s Talentadong Pinoy, on the other hand, climbed to 8th place from it’s regular 9th position.

Two shows from rival networks had its debut last Sunday in the daytime and primetime race respectively. Your Song Presents: Boystown, starring The Giggerboys, registered 12.8% in Mega Manila which is good for 4th place in the daytime race. Topping the daytime race last Sunday was SOP followed by its rival show ASAP.

The best performer was GMA’s Power of 10 as hosted by Janno Gibbs. The newest game show registered 24 percent in the primetime race in Mega Manila placing 2nd to Kap’s Amazing Stories.

Last Monday night, the Korean version of Meteor Garden called “Boys Over Flowers” debuted at no. 9 in the primetime race with a rating of 22%. It failed to beat it’s rival show Fated to Love You which garnered a strong 28.3 percent.

Lee Min Ho, born on June 22, 1987 in Seoul Korea, plays the role of “Jun Pyo” in the Korean Meteor Garden entitled “Boys Over Flowers.” He stands 186 cm. and has Cancer as star sign.

He finished major in cinema at Konkuk University in Seoul. His first tv appearance was in the series “Love Hymn” in 2005 on MBC. His other tv projects were Secret Campus, Mackerel Run, I’m Sam, But I Don’t Know Too and Boys Over Flowers where he has just won Best New Actor at the 45th Baeksang Arts Award.

The 25-episode Korean adaptation is said to be equivalent to the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden and the Japanese series Hana Yori Dango.

Aside from Korea, the filming locations of the said tv series includes Macau, Las Vegas and New Caledonia in the US.

The cast of Boys Over Flowers are Koo Hye-sun as Geum Gan Di, Lee Min-ho as Gu Dyun Pyo, Kim Hyun-joong as Yun Ji Hoo, Kim Bum as So Yi Jeong and Kim Joon as Song Woo Bin. Also starring are Han Chae-young, Kim Hyun-joo and Kim So Eun.

Synopsis: Geum Jan Di is from a poor family and is admitted to the prestigious Shinhwa High School after stopping a student who was being bullied from committing suicide. Shinhwa High was established by Shinhwa Group, the biggest conglomerate in Korea, and is attended by the scions of the wealthiest families. At Shinhwa, she finds that a group of rich and good-looking boys called “F4″ (“Flower 4″ or “Flamboyant 4″) who enjoys tremendous popularity. The F4, however, thinks nothing of humiliating others, and often issues a “red card”. Whoever finds the dreaded red card in his or her locker subsequently becomes the target of bullying by the entire student body. Jan Di detests all this circus, but receives a red card herself and is bullied, after she stands up for one of her fellow classmates. Eventually, she begins to have feelings for one of the F4, Ji-hoo, but also discovers that the leader of the group, Jun Pyo, is falling for her, too. A love triangle thus develops among Jun Pyo, Jan Di and Ji Hoo.
