Manny Pacquiao changed his mind as to who will sing the Philippine National Anthem in his upcoming bout with Joshua Clottey on March 13 at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

According to reports, RnB Prince Jay-R is supposed to sing “Lupang Hinirang” in the said bout but he told Philippine Entertainment Portal that Manny picked Charice Pempengco instead.

Fans have been clamoring for the country’s international artists like Charice, Arnel Pineda and Lea Salonga to sing the National Anthem in one of Manny Pacquiao’s bouts and this time it looks like one name in the wish list will be erased.

Charice is currently gearing up for the music video release of her first international carrier single “Pyramid” in the US. It will surely delight her fans around the world knowing that the world’s most talented girl will grace the high-rating boxing match of Pacman.

The Pyramid Remix was first heard on radio today in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is set to be played on other radio stations in the US this weekend.

The impact date for Pyramid’s album version to be played on US radio stations is March 8, 2010. The release of the official single will follow. It’s still a mystery up to now whether it will be Sean Kingston or Iyaz who will be featured in the album version.

The anticipation for the release of Charice’s international single “Pyramid” is killing her fans all over the world, so to speak. As the YouTube singing sensation turns 18 this May, her still untitled international debut album will also be released. But of course, the single should come out first. And to herald the release of “Pyramid” featuring Sean Kingston (Beautiful Girls, Fire Burning on the Dance Floor), it’s club remix version featuring Iyaz (Replay) will be available at iTunes on February 23, 2010.

The impact date for Pyramid the single is on March 8, 2010. This is when radio stations start playing Charice’s Pyramid featuring Sean Kingston (or Iyaz).

Just want to clarify that the track is not the official single that Warner Bros./143 Records are about to release any day from now. The official single is a collaboration with Iyaz (Sean Kingston’s protege known as Keidran Jones) and not Sean Kingston himself. It is said that the song was written by Sweddish songrwriter David Jassy and R&B singer Lyrica Anderson and produced by Twin.

The leak could be a tactic of some sort. Apparently, many recording companies have done this before – leaking the unofficial version of the track to gain exposure. But some leaks can result into disaster. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that when the official “Pyramid” track of Charice comes out, people will start buying it.

As for me, after hearing the track, i am instantly compelled to purchase it on iTunes as soon as it becomes available because it sounds really amazing!

One way of helping Charice climb the Billboard charts is to request her song, Pyramid, on various radio stations in the US and Canada. Keep in mind that Billboard does not only rely on music sales in ranking their Hot 100. They also put weight on frequent air plays. Charicemania posted an excellent article on how to do it.

In the interview, Charice claims that she’s a big fan of the movie and that she watched it 30 times in one day (who can beat that?). Among the chipmunks, she said the one she likes the most was Theodore. She even rendered a sample talking in chipmunk voice.

Charice will play the role of herself, the singer, representing her school in a singing contest wherein she will compete against the chipmunks. The international singing sensation will perform Alicia Keys‘ song “No One” in the movie. The song is included in the original soundtrack of Alvin and the Chipmunks 2.
