12-year-old Charlie Green was discovered from the reality talent competition “Britain’s Got Talent.” He has already appeared on various tv programs of the kapamilya network.

The Fil-Brit lad is now a recording artist under Viva Records. His single “Pers Lab” has been released recently. The song is from his first studio album called “A Friend Like You”, which is now available in record bars. He has worked with international composer Christian De Walden for the said album .

“Pers Lab” is originally sung by the Hotdog band in the 70s. It is one of the pinoy classics revived by Charlie Green in his album. The music video features Nadine Lustre of the Pop Girls.

10-year-old Charlie Green is perhaps best known for making it to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent season 2 together with Madona Decena, a pinay lounge singer working in England.

Charlie arrived in Manila yesterday and he’s set to guest on various ABS-CBN shows like Pinoy Dream Academy’s “Uberture,” ASAP ’08, Wowowee, The Buzz, Boy & Kris and Sharon.

Charlie was hoping to be able to sing together with pinoy international singing sensation Charice who he finds a great singer.

“I would love to sing with her and I will ask her how is it like singing with Andrea Bocelli,” Charlie said.

This is the third time Charlie set foot in the Philippines. He is staying in Manila until August 10. This time, it’s not a vacation because his schedule is filled with television guestings, particularly on the said kapamilya shows.

For his semi-finals performance, Charlie sang an original composition. He’s even done some scat singing and beatboxing in the middle of the song. He received thunderous applause and a standing ovation after his delightful performance.

Piers Morgan said “You’re incredibly confident at your age on stage. You’re a great singer. Everything about you says you’re a young star. I’ve got to be honest with you, I thought you took a big gamble tonight with that kind of style. I’m not entirely sure that i like it that much, but i do like you.”

Amanda Holden said “I have to say i think you’re absolutely delicious you have a face to die for and you’re such a pro and you have a wonderful wonderful voice but i completely agree with Piers. There was something wrong. It didn’t feel like you.”

Simon Cowell said “I’ll tell you what the problem was Charlie you had i think one of my favorite auditions and i think you’ve got real real potential. The problem was the song. The song was terrible. It really was, I mean i would never give a singer like you with a song like that.”

The crowd totally disagree with the three judges.

Green lost by a split decision from two of the three judges.

Green’s father, Roger, said that his wife, Cecilia Surmargo, hails from the Philippines’ queen city – Cebu. That makes Charlie half-Filipino because Cecilia originated from Dumanjug is a Cebuana.

The 10-year-old boy from Droitwich, Worcestershire will advance to the semi-finals after receiving three “yeses” from the judges Simon Cowell, actress Amanda Holden and journalist Piers Morgan during the live audition at Manchester Theatre.

Charlie, born February 16, 1997, performed Frank Sinatra’s “Summer Wind” and got a standing ovation from the audience and was praised by the show’s judges.

Piers Morgan said, “You’re not just a brilliant singer, you’re also dancing… you got it all Charlie!”

Amanda Holden said, “I predict you can win this show.”

Simon Cowell said, “Charlie you are fantastic. Charlie, I think you are a little star, I really, really like you.”
